anybody got some info on these cars . there is a new one a few blocks from my apt and everytime i see him he gives me "the look" i want to race him but i wanted some info on his car first.

It just "looks fast" as the commercial says. I am pretty sure its just an apeearance package still with the little 1.8 under the hood (and 180 HP). Race him, you should kill him. Stock for stock you should be more or less even, now you will kill him.

 

stock for stock those cars are real fast. one of my friends has a 2000 gt-s celica and that thing surprised the hell out of me. they are quick but you have way more mods then me so good luck..

the new "action" celica's are a joke. even the gt-s suck, the gt-s has a "action" 1.8, 4 cylinder with 180 HP. you can whip him as long as he's not on the bottle or anything.

Just to throw my thoughts in there you would walk all over him. I raced one a little while ago. I have a 305TPI 5sp with a few things done to it. High flow cat, mandrel bent exhaust, bla, bla, bla and I handed him his *** . I was so far in front of him by the time I hit 3rd gear I just quit it wasnt worth wasting my gas any more. And of course he did the dumb a$$ speed pass after I let off the gas. So I would say race him and then just point and laugh.

 

I'm pretty sure the new GT-S's are good for mid to low 15's, they come with a 6speed so if you go up against a good driver it could be close. I would bet the race on you to win though. let us know the results when you race.

I knew a guy who was so proud of his Celica. I told him that Indy was open tues. night so lets go. He runs a 15.? and swears something was wrong. The very next pass he revs the $#*! out of it like it'll go faster if he presses the pedal harder and boom! Tosses the timing chain. So we called a tow truck loaded his two week old $20,000 car on a trailer and called it a day. That was a pretty good day for cheap old American cars.

They're kinda cool looking IMO other than the headlights (i can just hear the ***** accusations coming now...) somone up the street from me has one. I've heard the 6 speed ones are good for a 6.6 0-60 but thats all i know other than its a 180 horse 1.8. Not bad power per size, but when it comes to motors, unless you've gota power adder, size does count. On the other hand, it could probably whoop MY *** !

WELL I FINALLY RACED THE IDOT LAST NIGHT.. HE WAS ALL TALKIN UP **** ABOUT HOW HIS CAR IS LIGHTER AND FASTER THAN MINE... WELL YOU ALL WILL BE HAPPY TO KNOW I SET HIM IN HIS PLACE.. OFF THE LINE HE HAD A BIT OF ON ADVANTAGE ( I ONLY GOT 273 GEAR FOR NOW ) BUT BY THE TIME I GOT TO 50 I WAS EVEN WITH HIM, THEN I GOT ON IT AND GOT ABOUT 2 OR 3 CAR LENTHS AHEAD AND SHUT IT DOWN . I ONLY WOULD HAVE PULLED AWAY MORE.. SO THEN OF COURSE HE GOES FLYIN BY ME AT LIKE 80 ( LIKE I CARED ) AND I SEE HIM ABOUT 3 BLOCKS LATER WITH A COP BEHIND HIM.. ALL I COULD DO WAS LAUGH MY BUTT OFF .. I TIHNK I SHOWED HIM A THING OR TWO..
