lol even with a 150 shot of nos that miata is nowhere near 400 hp. it may seem like it cuz it is so much lighter than you, but i would guess its more like 300.

I'd be scared to use a 150 shoot in one of those go-karts.

You think THATs scary, do a search on the web for the "Monster Miata!" I'm not making this up, you can actually order one, its a tiny little miata with a Ford 5.0 and a 5 speed in it. You can even get one with a blower last i remember. Talk about a good fast way to KILL YOURSELF! Theres one running around my town and its VERY quiet, nobody ever suspects a thing. Heres the only link i've got onhand to some info about it:

Stock- they aren't as fast as would be expected. I beat one with the LTD off the line, then he quit racing, probably could have caught me.

man, doesn't that make u mad, i know it makes me mad. A tiiny little barbie car driving around with NOS. It's just some loser who can't drive putting some cheep horsepower in his car to boost his self image. But seriously though, can you even fit 2 people in one of those cars? You could pick the car up with one hand.

What are you TALKING about??? The guy won...period. On the streets, it's ALWAYS "run what you brung", and if the Miata brought more and won the race, then so be it!

I think that if the Miata owner had wanted to boost his "image" somehow, he would've spent the money on something that you could SEE, like a huge spoiler or a "phat body kit"...if the guy spent his money on something to make his car more exciting to drive and more performance oriented, I give him props for it. I also give props to the person who started this thread for being honest about his loss and not making excuses for it.

I've personally lost on the street to cars with nitrous...it's sneaky as hell, but it's still fair.

You guys need to read some import magazines... if you don't think a miata will kick *** ... there are huge organizations in Japan totally devoted to 300+ Hp Miatas... and the body kit selection out there can turn it into anything. Those crazy Japs... lol

I hear that the BMW Z3 has a sissy exhaust compared to the miata... talk about a barbie car, that Z3 is the definition.

This Miata actually looked kinda of cool. The 2000 Miatas actually look pretty good compared to the older ones before that. The new ones have the ground effects and the front looks a lot better, but ya I need a nos system now.

the reasons the imports need nos is because there wee little engines cant `get it up', and they need a good dose of viagra, or i mean NOS

The RX-7's are even faster. And yes you can put a 5.0 in a miata. But guess who spent more money? Miata man or Iroc guy? And someone asked how much room is there in a Miata, not enough for me , sat in one once I barely fit.

My brother raced a Monster on the highway they started at 65, he was in a VW GTI (I know don't get me started, he really wants a 91-92 GTA ), anyways the guy looked, laughed and was gone in less then 3 seconds, those things are fast as **** and would walk on any 350 any day and some 400's if not done properly. It would be like us dropping an LS1 in a Geo Storm

Honda engines ROCK, I have one on my lawn mower but I still have to push it.

The Miata gets its power from that ingeneous little rotary engine. This thing just about has NO red line(maybe 14k if built up right!) These thing take to turbo's like ducks to water. They respond to ANY mod with massive results. Have you raced a twin T rotary?... lets say they walk the dogs... they have supercharger kits, turbo kits, NOS, full intake and exhaust support, suspension EVERYTHING. I have seen a few dyno results and quite a few have been in the 400 PLUS HP AND TORQUE!. Needless to say these little buggers will fly past just about any third gen here.

"The Miata gets its power from that ingeneous little rotary engine"

Miatas don't have rotaries (stock), they have 1.6 or 1.8 engines with approximately 116-145 hp (guesstimates...I don't have the specs in front of me...the most recent Miatas were over-rated at 155 hp or so). They are definitely not rotary-engined, though.

They aren't particularly fast in a straight line (stock), but if you've ever driven one, you'll quickly realize that it drives like (and is nearly as much fun as) a go-kart. It's probably the easiest and most fun car to fling sideways that I've ever driven.
