Silly little Focus....

There's this guy at work, real idiot...well, he's got a brand spankin' new Focus. His current mods are a chip, "cold air intake" (kinda defeats the purpose living in Arizona...the air's hot EVERYWHERE!) and pulleys...And he's got 17 inch rims with some kind of off-brand tires on them, don't remember the name of the tires at the moment...Anyways, this guy was talking all sorts of trash about how his Nascar F-150 would stomp my old '76 Datsun 280Z...think I should stomp the snot out of his Focus with the Mustang I'm getting in a few days? It's a 88, 5.0, 5 speed...has a Centerforce clutch, (not sure on what type) a K and N, and Flows...Oh yeah, his Focus is a 4 door five speed, and he's not exactly proficient at shifting properly...Or should I just beat him by, oh say, a fender or so...make him think his mods actually did anything...he thinks he's going to be making 200 horse, up from the baseline 130 it makes...

I think you'll beat him, but careful...I've seen some quick foci out there.

I've seen fotos of Focus's running at the track, and although they don't show their times, not one guy was wearing a helmet!!!

Supposedly those Focus's run around 16.8 stock. Those mods should give him 16.5 at best.

I say stomp him in the DATSUN! I love those cars! Then go waste his "NASCAR" F-150 with the Datsun AGAIN!

a 5.0 mustang will rip a Focus a new one. I know that from expeirence. Haven't seen a SVT focus yet, but all the other models aren't a challenge.

All his mods probably added 5HP over the base 130HP.

I like Focus SVT for what they are, a economy car with enough performance to satisfy the import scene demand.

I also like the new Pontiac Vibe, it has characteristics like a Focus would have, so I guess, we will be seeing more people buying that. I wouldn't mind either, because they both look pretty cool IMHO. The Vibe got good ratings in Autoweek.

It would be nice to see a Mustang finally get a 6 speed like the Focus is getting
