Like i've said in many of my other posts I was stupid for a day and bought a Mustang. A 1991 Mustang GT to be exact. My friend owns a 1990 IROC-Z with the L98. I am an all GM guy so whooping on Mustangs was the norm. The oly reason I bought it is because I like the way they sounded with Flomaster's. Anyway to the point. He always wanted to race me but I wanted to wait until I got everything done to my car.

The outcome: He handed me my a$$

We raced 5 times We switched cars 2 of the times. At the track he was running 14.12 and I was running 14.6

 

What were your 60's? What do you intend to do with the mustang? If you want to make it quicker, I suggest you give it a complete tuneup and do all of the free mods. I'm ran a 14.2 @ 98mph with my K&N + glasspack mufflers 89 5.0. However, it was an LX. You should be a bit heavier, but that would put you no worse than a 14.4. If you were really determined, you could get into the 13s without spending more than a hundred bucks.

Even with the way you run now, you could drop in a set of 3.73 gears and hand him him his *** .

Good luck with the car. I think if you ever get interested in going fast, you'll be glad that you picked fox-body mustang.

dude, beleave me. I have a 87 iroc with a l98 350 with no cat coming out in to flows. It is frekin loud. I cant start my car after 10 pm because of our noise ordinace. I have a 3.45 gear 5 speed because it origanlly had a 305. The motor has been built and puts out 350 HP. Im only a sopohmore in high school and ill be havein fun.
P.S. At one point i was going to but a 90 gt but i fell in love with my ROC and ive never looked back.

My brother's friend has a 93 GT with headers, stock cats, 40 series flows, and dumps under the rear seats. It sounds horrible! It's not bad from outside, but nothing really remarkable. From the inside, though, it drones in a monotone! It's obviously a V8, and is plenty loud, but that single tone and pitch is very weird, reminiscent of a 4-cylinder motor. It's very low and constant; little variation in sound. I drove it for five miles while he followed me in my 91 formula WS6 305 tpi (both cars are 5 speeds) and the sound was really getting to me after even that short drive.

Shoot, I much prefer the higher-pitched V8 (kind of like a 6 in the same way the mustang was kind of like a 4) of my dad's Z06 to that mustang's sound, however deep it may be.

 

Geez guys, grow up a little. There's nothing wrong with ford guys on this site. Its good to have a different opinion. At least they're not riceburners!

I just didn't want it anymore the previous owner beat the hell out of it. It only had 2.73 in it too. I traded it to a guy in town for my first motorcycle 1998 CBR F3

ok boys, i apologize for the comment, it was childish but i get tired of comments like "if you really get interested in goin fast, you will be glad you got a fox body" comments like that **** me off. i really do appreciate you mustang boys bein here, there is no reason we cant get along, i mean we all want the same thing here. i just get tired of hearing comments like that on our site. talk trash all you want about camaros and firebirds on your 'stang sites. but please respect us and not diss us on our own site. i am sure there aer idiots wiht f-bodys that to talk trash on stang sites too. so in closing, i respect mustangs alot and i do like a few ot them, and i would take a stang over a japaneese import anyday. Ok, I understand why that might **** you off. I know damn good and well the performance potential of the chevy 350 in all its various forms. I've been smoked my fair share of times . Anyway, I'm sure that you all know the aftermarket on teh 5.0 is huge. I wasn't trying to be derogatory towards F-bodies, just showing my loyalty to the 5.0.

As I said at one time I was pretty close to getting and stang but didnt.
But I dont think they should talk on a Chevy\Pontiac site.
I dont go to ford sites and start talkin about my car. But If you have a Camaro\Firebird I would like to hear about it.
