Should be close, but I think you will edge him out. LT1s respond to bolts ons better... As long as he doesn't get you too bad off the line you should get him.

if you can drive stick you should outrun him pretty easy, there's lt1's with full boltons running twelves, the tpi just doesn't have any of the top end that the lt1 has

Because you have a WS6 you'll win. I honestly never knew Pontiac sold a "WS6". Why haven't you and your bro raced before is a mystery. I always raced my bro with our cars. Race him and post results, not attention getters.

I think the lt1 is gonna pull away. Make sure you record it. In Mexico of course.
Do a dig, low speed roll, and high speed roll. You should win two outta three

Really you did not know Pontiac sold the WS6 handling package. More than likely the formula also has it. The WS6 has bean a Pontiac handling package for decades.

Now as for who would win, The formula has the gears and weight advantage. To many unknowns on this as to what mods to the engine since it is not stock. T/A has the LT1 and stick less power loss with a stick,
From a dig the only race that really counts, The formula will have you until the 8th then the T/A will take it.

Yea thats been a handling package forever. Most Formulas and Trans Ams had it in the 3rd gen. ( I actually think its rare to find a TPI powered bird that DOESN'T have it )

It wasn't until the late 4th gen that the WS6 designation was more than handling upgrades.

I know this is a dead thread, but Formulas came with the WS6 Standard. My '92 TA had a 305 TPI that didn't come with the WS6, it came with the "Sport" suspension.
