Awesome race
Awesome race
Took my recently purchased 1996 Z28 LT1/T-56 yesterday to see if all the mods helped and during my travels I ran into a Stealth R/T Twin Turbo. I had not planed to race him but he wouldn't leave me alone (constant revving and pacing for blocks) so finaly I dropped a gear and it was on. We started from around 25mph so I pulled it into first and let it rip. Holy smokes this Z moves took me until top of second to really pull on him but once I got going I killed him bad. We pulled over and talked and showed off our cars. His was stock besides some kind of custom air box and different mufflers. He was very impressed as was I.

Cool. Like I always said, more people need to be good sports about racing, not just flip you off and do a fly by if you beat them. Stealths are cool too, if you can find one, the 91-93 R/Ts only go for 9-11K in my area, thats a pretty good deal if you ask me!

a combo like his should be in the 13.3-13.8 range. Bone stock they are good for very low 14's with the 6 speed. Then again, Ive seen people run 13.8 with only a cat back, and a K&N...so maybe faster. If your buddy had one year newer (98+) it would be a whole different story (LS1).

it all depends on the driver. ive seen a bone xtock one run 13.9, and i have also seen modded ones run 14.5. the 6-speed is a pain to get traction on with the LT1. i know my 60' will be crap when i finally get to the track. i cant hook up if my life depended on it. though i should probally stop roastin the tires and goin sideways into 3rd. im sure thats not helpoing my tires grip anymore...

Actually I kinda got screwed out of the Z, After buying it on the terms that the dealer would fix the clutch and intake gasket leak. and after owning it for three days they refused to fix it without me paying half. I wasn't going to pay jack so I told them I wanted my money back. So they sold it to someone who didn't notice the problems for $500 more than they sold it to me for.
