Me vs 86 stang

He has a 86 stang convertable 5.0. He got a 302 out of a older capri that was bored out .30 over and has a holley carb. Edelbrock air filter, thats all iknow about anyway. Not much more if anything...
Anyway it is that car vs mine, whadda ya think, who will win. Oh yeah mine's a 5-speed stnd and he has a 4-speed stnd. Just wanted to know if i should challenge him or not.

I am pretty sure even if he has more hp, weight is on my side . Convertable vs hardtop 1le. I was a little confident anyway just wanted to be sure. well i guess none of his cars can beat me... he's the same guy who owns the CRX you guys said i can beat

Depends on his heads/ intake/ cam and Gearing.
stock 86 heads suck. stock 87-95 arent too horible, and can be real nice if they are worked. If it has the CFI or the small tb sefi intake then hes screwed. If he has an 87 up then he may be in good shape. I believe the stock rear in his is non locking and probably 2.73s. If he has something other than that watch out.

so, just race him and tell about it or ask him some of the ?s that I mentioned.

you'll waste him, i beat down an 86 gt but it was a five speed with efi. he claims he spun badly and my car hooked up just fine. id say put some cash on it, so that way you can recoop the gas you just wasted racing him
