How much is your car worth?

Hey guys.

I'll be moving back to ON next week. I am trying to decide if it is worth it to ship my Bird to ON and try to sell it there. I am currently in BC and I have no time to sell it privately out here before I move.

What do third gen Firebirds and Camaros go for in ON?

I appreciate any help.

I bought my 89 firebird formula for $5000 tx's,e-test,safety included , it's a 350 TPI ,WS6 w/n air or t-roof's. Nice shape w/180,000KM. You should go to www.trader.ca and do a "all ontario" search on camaro and firebird that will give you an idea of going prices...............SR

What are the "e-test" and "safety"?

Are these something that I would have to have to sell my car out there?

Thanks

Safety(Mechanical fitness) and emission test aren't required to sell a vehicle, but if they aren't done the car would have to be sold as is and the price you could expect to get for it would reflect this.
Something else to consider,If you are planning to sell the car without first registering it in Ontario in your name the buyer would have to pay an additional tax(Education i think) because of it being an out of province vehicle.(unless it was previously registered in ontario).
There is a link in one of the thread's below for Ontario Drive clean(emmision test) that will give you an idea what's required for this test.......Hope this help's you out.....SR

nows the right time to sell, as the weather has been real nice lately and soon it will stay nice. i would suggest selling your car certified and emissions tested; you will be able to get more for it.
do you have any performance or stereo mods to your car? how many kilometers are on it?

I moved out here a few years back. Lived in Burnaby, Vancouver, Coquitlam, New West, etc., for about 30 years so have some experience with this.

The AirCare program out there (B.C.) is much harsher than the test in Ontario. B.C.'s AirCare is mandatory every year for rip-off prices and here (Ontario) it is usually every second year for reasonable prices (hey Ontario guys wanna pay up top $50 per year for an air test ? Go to B.C. bend over and smile). Visual inspections are not yet an issue here but soon will be. There is FAR greater leniency for mods out here than B.C. If your car passed AirCare in VCR/B.C. then it will certainly pass Ontario's tests.

Prices of vehicles -- if you need the coin then sell your car in B.C. as you will get 20-25% more for the car and in some cases up to 50% more, in Vancouver especially.

Curious -- why are you moving back ? Get tired of the fouled up economy with no jobs, exhorbitant property prices, ever increasing heinous crime rate, miserable weather, idiot government... UH - OHHH pardon me with my "why B.C. sucks attitude"... apologies, apologies... did I mention skyrocketing insurance rates, permanent grid-lock, LEAKY CONDOs... darn I did it again... apologies, many many apologies...

I love Ontario.

Welcome back,
RP.

This car passes BC emmissions every year without any problems.

I'm moving back to Ontario for jobs.

darbleinad -> The car has no mods and is 100% original. It has 121,496 kms on the dot and I am asking $6500 but I am negotiable.
