Promoting our Site...just an idea
I always see thirdgens in my area and I wonder if they are on the message board or not. More than likely, they are not. They probabley not even aware that there is a site such as ours. I had been contemplating printing up a small flyer that I can keep in my car. If I happen to see one on a parking lot or meet someone with a thirdgen, I could place it under the windshield wiper or give the owner one. It's just an idea, but I was wondering what everyone thinks about it. I have provided a copy of a sample "flyer".

Please do not throw this out until you have read this notice.
You have received this small note because your thirdgen (1982- 92 Camaro /Firebird/TransAm) had been spotted by one of our Members of the Ontario Region Thirdgens . We are trying to generate more interest in our area. It costs you absolutely nothing to join. All you need to do is register a user name and password to gain access to our site. Go to www.thirdgen.org, click on "message boards" and scroll down to "REGIONS". Click on "Ontario" and you will have found us. You don't even have to register if you just want to take a look and see what we are about.
If you like talking about your car, have technical advice, or are looking for specific info about your car, then www.Thirdgen.org is the place. Here we trade info, ask questions, talk about the different modifications, arrange group gatherings to meet and greet new and old members and also plan track events at places like St Thomas or Cayuga. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, then check us out, you won't be disappointed
Thank You.

Hey Kev, can you add the thirdgenontario address too? http://home.cogeco.ca/~thirdgen-ontario
I like the idea... maybe I can make up some business cards? Little easier to carry around

I will keep working on it, and I can add your site to it Nathan. Business cards would be good but there wouldn't be room to explain what the site is about. If you are talking to someone, and then hand them a card, it would be a great idea.
I keep you all posted.

You don't know how many thirdgens I see parked and have waited a few minutes to see if the owner comes out. This is a good idea. THis site is a valuable resource for us and I don't know how I would of done with out it.

we need a way to distinguish who's been flyered already. we dont want angry new members who keep getting flyered every where they go by our different members. but excellent idea :hail: :lala:

It is a good idea although I saw a few 3rd gens today which belonged to people who obviously did'nt give a rats about their cars and probably could'nt read either. So the concept might be lost on them - but if you see a nice one parked somewhere - yeah why not put a note or a card on it.

Axle/Gears: Yup -- they still work
sponsored ?
Hey Kev thats a great idea I'm in the same boat -- see a nice 3rd gen but don't have time to wait around and talk so could leave a card instead.
What about getting a sponsor to offset the cost ? Maybe display their logo on the card ? Just a thought.
