subframes are here and on....
well they finally arrived and I have welded them on.. and to be honest I don't really feel anything to spectacular like everyone else seems to think.. i don't know why maybe because I have a solid roof already and that is pretty sturdy.. So well I got them on so i don't have to worry about frame twisting anymore if I beef up the horsepower in the future
Just thought I would let you guys know...

Especially with a solid roof, you may not notice as much of a difference. I notice the shake in the car really settle down on the highway at speeds around 120. And a couple less creaks and groans when going slowly over bumps...but I do have t-tops though.
If you don't mind me asking.....how much did they cost and was it a simple weld-in? I was going to buy a set but was told that I had to cut a hole in the floor under the rear driver side seat to fit.
My plan was to buy bolt-on's, install them and then weld them. Just an idea.

MAC SFC's are a standard $199 no matter where you go. I honest would waste your time bolting them in first and then welding them. Just get them welded and that's it. And no, there should be no holes to cut at all. Mine simply welded in with only a bit of massaging of the intermediate pipe by the cat to get the one weld in place.

$199 sounds like a cheap price. Is that cdn or u.s? If that's Canadian than I'm buying a set now! I have t-roofs.
92Zedder..where did you pick yours up from? I'm in Thornhill, so what's the closest or best shop that won't rip me off(Performance Improvments). I don't mind driving to get a good deal.

88redxtsy: Let me reiterate my above statement...ALL OF MAC PRODUCTS ARE STANDARD PRICES! $199 whether you go to Mr. Speed Ma and Pop Performance Shop or if you go to Performance Improvements. And yes I'm trying to be a smart **** here!
So if there is a Performance Improvements near you, just order them through there.
92zedder: I got mine at Master Performance in Brampton...I made my appointment for the install on the Monday morning with them...showed up at the shop on the Saturday they had them in stock and installed them right away. Took less than a week for the whole transaction. Unless MAC is looking to discontinue them, they shouldn't be hard to find at all.

IROCKER: Thank you smart a*s
So tell me, what did the shop charge you for the install. The best quote I've got is $350 and the shop has a drive on hoist. Can this be done on a normal hoist ( 2 arms on each side)? If so I'll just take it to my uncle's and have him do it.
I've been told that SFC's need to be installed with all 4 wheels on a surface.

$350...is that including the price of the SFC's? If so that's not bad. I paid about $300 for the SFC's installed. And yes, it absolutely has to be done with all four wheels in contact. An arm based hoist can cause the body to flex and you definately don't want them welded in like that.
