Garage broken into..AGAIN!!!!

Wel, here it is, Monday morning at 6:15am and I'm walking into the garage to leave for work whe I check on our 2 Camaros. And, &*^$*^$&, here we go again! Some punks got into our underground garage and ransacked the place. They threw stuff all over my car. I don't know what's been taken yet. I'm waiting for the cops to show up before I touch anything. (By the way, if your garage gets broken into out our way- demand mobile police response! They're not supposed to do those calls over the phone, but some lazy bums wil try!)

They got my fiance's touch-up paint and spray painted a nice Mustang ragtop that parks beside us. Luckily, I don't think they vandalized our cars, but they likely scratched mine up. There's not a lot of rom down there, so I imagine once I get it cleaned up, I'll see some scratches.

I swear, if I'd caught the little peepee heads in the act, I would have beat them within an inch of their lives! No joke! I'm small, but you don't wanna mess with me when I'm mad...especially when it comes to my car!

I just had to get that off my chest. I hate living in a highrise. this is the 2nd time in less than a year I've been the victim of a B&E..last time they ripped my alarm out and stole a bunch of stuff. It cost $1000 last time to fix my car. Thanks *** it was covered by insurance!

I'd say I live in the bad part, but I think that's the whole city! Man, I hate this. We live in the north end of Kitchener..Breithaupt Park area. We're building a house in Waterloo. I sure as heck hope it's beter up there! (It's so hard not to swear when I'm this angry, but I don't wanna get kicked off the board. Just substitue the polite versons of the words I'm using for what you think is appropriate!)

That really sucks, Tracey. I had been broken into before when I lived in a highrise. Once again, it was underground parking. I think the car is safer above ground. It's too easy to get into the garages and once in there, there is no one to see them. They are alot braver in places like that. Wait 'til you get into that new house of yours. Since I've moved to this neighbourhood,4 years ago, there has only been one case of a break in.
Those "peepee heads" better not show up around here, or I will have to kick their "roody poo" butts.

I'm already on record regarding the low-life vermin scumbag puke bottom feeding trash... that B&Es are cars.

Many sympathies to you and your neighbours from all of us.

The people who hit on your UG parking will graduate into car thieves. Euthanasia is too good for them.

My sympathies to you... my stance on the kids that do these petty crimes are just like Palric... except I am the type of person that wouldn't hold back and beat the living crap out of these kids that think its fun to destroy other people's stuff.

For me I don't like living in apartment buildings, especially highrises. I never felt safe even visiting them. When you move out to a house, to me it feels a lot safer... plus your car is just outside the window usually

Hope the damage isn't too serious and that whatever the case these kids get caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent..

Thanks guys!

I'll be viewing the surveillance tape tomorrow night. Gonna have some photos made up of the suspects once I find them on the video. Makes me wish it was like the wild west..I'd go Billy the Kid on their asses!

I also found the spray paint can they used...it'll be printed in the next day or so. I'm hyper-vigilant about this, but luckily, I have a background in this sorta thing and know what can be done. I'll keep you guys posted. If the catch the little punks, I'll tell ya and we can have a coffee or beer somewhere to celebrate! Man, this happens a lot though! I took 8 other calls like this today! And that was just me.

Thanks for letting me vent this morning. I needed that! And to all of you who said it'll be better when I move to the house- I hope you're right. I plan to have a very big, very mean dog! The kicker is, when we moved here, they told us we could break our lease when we found a house. Then, when we found a house, they chaged their minds. I'd have been in the new house by now otherwise and not here for this crapola to happen!

Sorry to hear about that Tracey. Yeap! A lot of low lifes out there. Jealousy is the usuall crap when they vandilize your cars. Hope you get the Jerkoffs! The worst part is, our cars are one of the easiest to get into. I'm talking 2 seconds tops. Someone should design a plate that mounts into the door making it harder to get a slim jim at the lock. Don't get the wrong idea by me knowing this. At the dealership I work at, alot of people lock the keys in the cars, my job is to get them out. I've been doing this for about 13 years now. Again that sucks. Hope you get em!!

I can get in without a slim jim that quickly..they guys who fixed it last time it got hit (Dec16, 2001) showed me how. Apparently, they'd seen it on TV a few days prior.

Last time, they ripped my alarm out and then went to town on the dash. One piece that needed to be replaced after cost $759.00! I had a big fight about that with the dealership because they wanted to install one from a wrecker and I said "Like Hell! The car was mint before the break-in, it's gonna be mint after.!"Isn't that why we have insurance?

In the end, I got the new part. All that trouble was for an anemic little bottom-of-the-line Sony CD player and about 30 CD's (most of which were MP3's I'd burned myself and likely ended up in a dumpster anyway). I wish losers like that would just take a long walk of a short pier...over shark-infested waters...with no life jackets..and no one there to save them...

Now your talkin. Yeap! If crime like that wasn't with us. We would all feel much better about life. No joke! You wouldn't need alarms, and you could buy a $1000 stereo and not worry about it. O.K. I'm dreamin. Go get em!

Anyone got any ideas for this? Im doing a lot of work on my doors this winter and will have most of the stuff off of them. If I used metal to block the slim jim wouldnt the window rub it and get scratched? I dont really believe in alarms anymore, except the silent remote alert ones (that way you actually have a chance of catching em). I do get paranoid when I am in Ottawa and I have to park far away at night. My stereo stuff is mucho visible and even if they just got my amp and head unit I would be $1500 in the drain .

Sorry about the breakin tracy that really does suck. Not like you need the re-assurance but like everyone else said, its alot less likely to happen in a driveway. And if you really want to catch them get one of the alarms I mentioned above... Theres no sound in the car but it sends a msg to a pager like device or you can have it page a pager you already own, and maybe a cell phone not sure. Anyway, they will take their sweet time while you grab a nice bat and sneak up on the car .

I was a victim of B&E in April with my beater car... 10:30am, at the school parking lot, FULL... and someone smashed the passenger window, tore up my REAL wood middle console, and stole my JVC deck. I didn't have theft on my beater And a new middle console costs 1800bux from the dealer, and good luck finding a good one at the wreckers

And.,.. the cops don't go to car B&E's anymore... I had to do mine over the phone , like you mentioned Tracy.... like WTF are cops doing then? Too focking lazy to check out the car, maybe look for some possible clues? What a great police force we have here... Sure, someone calls in about my driving, they'll come to my apartment for that!!!!! But not when my focking car id broken into??????!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR

You find those punks Tracy, you tell me.. I need a punching bag!!!

Man that blows bad. I know what you mean though cops really dont care. When our 4 wheeler got stolen awhile ago they didnt bother doing anything. Spent 3 minutes on the phone tops. My mom works at a nursing home and was telling me some 93 year old was driving after she got her license revoked and is a terrible driver (runs stop signs, speeding, going to slow, bad vision, you name it) and my mom reported it a few times and the cops did nothing till she threatened them. Imagine if that 93 YO hit a kid on a bike or something... Pretty damn lazy if you ask me.

Anyway I hope to make my car somewhat theft proof getting the windows and hatch tinted with good stuff (makes it shatter proof like the windshield). Also found a kit thats around 140 usd to shave the door handles (more for looks, but theft protection is a bonus). The slim jim totally slipped my mind for some reason though...

That's the problem...several feelt of concrete walls in the underground parking...no signal would get through to the pager. I will, however, look into these. I love the baseball bat concept. Good cheap security plus wholesome family entertainment!

P.S. I have the security tape for my viewing plesaure. I was gonna rent Frailty for tonight, but this is Must-See TV!!

Just to Clarify...

The cops DID come out to my place. I asked that they consider the fact that the garage was entered-making it a B&E call- which CANNOT be handled over the phone. Don't be afraid to be pushy. I don't know of a single dispatcher who isn't..myself included.

Think if someone was breaking into my car, my samurai blade would be overkill?

I like the idea of the baseball bat.. beat them senseless...

Where's the Knight Industries Two Thousand when you need one hehe?
