The winter build-up begins...
I picked up some 3.73s this week-end. Got them for a reasonable price no complaints. Probably won't get them in till spring time so they will sit in the trunk for a few months.
Anyone know where you can get the list of VSS tranny gear codes ? I'll need one for the upgrade from 3.42s. Oh yeah the 3.42s will be for sale real cheap.
Next on the list -- new clutch and tranny work. Checking out a Ripper for the Borg-Warner as well.
adious,
RP.

nope
Nope I count 1...2...3...4...5.... 10 bolts. Yah know I never checked before I bought the kit -- just assumed it was 10 bolt ?!?!?
Yah I really like the 3.73 with the T-5 around town. Should help in the 1/4 as well.

3.42 to 3.73 let me know how it works out.. I have thought about that swap, but not convinced it would be a worth while swap. but maybe. there's a guy with a 92 camaro on the TPI board that put 3.73's and he dynoed at 209rwhp but I don't think he was G92.
Still going with the 305? or 350 now days?

I was gonna say 3.73s would be too much for a tpi, but with a t-5 you should get some nice launches
.
I am going for a fourth gen 3.42 rear this winter... Just a year since my dif rebuild and its already been a peg leg for over a month and starting with the funny sounds again! Not to mention the passenger side disc is sticking and warped. The whole things getting scrapped, and replaced with 12 inches in the back with any luck

. Hey Richard, just curious if your sure you have the right gears for the car. There are a number of different 10 bolt rearends.
7.5 & 7.625, 3 carrier ..... 7.5 & 7.625, 2 carrier. They show different part numbers.
Just thought I'd ask, cause if you don't install them for a couple months and they're the wrong ones, you may not be able to exchange them.
Martin.

Should be the right gears Richard. I believe the 7.5 & 7.6 use's the same gear. Just the housing size and cover plates are different.
If you have 3 carrier gears and that's what the car has, they should fit regaurdless. The 2 carrier use's different one's.
Sorry, didn't mean to cause you any grief. Wasn't sure if you knew about the 2 & 3 carrier sizes.
Martin.
