Well it looks like you've got some work ahead of you. Was a nice car like you said, and I'm sure it will be again, with some certain amount of work of course. Good luck. Love the shaker!

I've owned a '77 SE TA and an '80 SE TA. They're great road cars. I've never even seen a '76+ with a 4 speed. They didn't make many of them and even less of them crossed the border. Cool car

Axle/Gears: Yup -- they still work
Oh man those T/As were NICE. Back in the 70s I had a friend (may he RIP) who had a '76 (which was stolen) and then a '78 (to replace the '76).
The '78 was a 400 4-speed I loved that car man the dash was simply TOO COOL. I loved driving that car. He mod'd the 400 after which it really ripped.
Question -- do you think the 2nd gens were under-rated for performance and handling ?
RP.

the handleing is good for the age yeah they were underrated in the hp field the SE got the 220hp 400 , base t/as got the 180hp.
For anyone who is interested theres a guy selling a black and gold 76' t/a with a factory 400 4spd for $1500obo solid car too
