Something to look forward to...Dyno Day

Well I phoned Forrest&Forrest Racing the other day. I told Glenn that since there have been quite afew inquiries into Dyno Day, that it might be feasible to book the dyno for the day. He said that it wasn't a problem and the cost is $550+tax. Normally I book for a half day (4 hours) at $325+tax. He also suggested that we can just book two half days if we want. I personally like the whole day event. I think that if we were to get 18 cars involved, the cost works out to be approximately $36.00 each. Also it will let people that were on earlier in the day to make some changes and then, if time allows, to get another kick at the cat.
Another suggestion for that day, weather permitting, that we organize a BBQ or something to that nature, for afterwards. Normally we all head out to a local tavern for something to eat and drink. If we have it at a park in the area, we can have our own little Show an' Shine meet. It's just a thought, but worth considering. The Dyno Day event seems to be getting bigger everytime, and with new members on the board, it's a great way to meet them as well as check each others rides and see what effect their mods have created.
If anyone has any thoughts to this day let me know.
I am planning on booking something in or around the end of May. I am thinking of the weekend following the May 24 weekend. Which is May 24. Pretty confusing since the May 24 weekend is actually on the 17 -19th.

hahhahah.....afraid you are gonna get owned by us guys with non-show cars?

anyway i would be up for going to this thing. that means i will have to get all my mods done by then, which is the plan. i am interested to see what kinda power my engine puts out.

Kevin, so we get the dyno for 8 hours? so that means we get roughly 27 mins each of dyno time, which includes loading the car on and off the dyno and any other stuff need to run the test. how long did it take to get the car on , do a run, and get the car off last time? how many runs do you think we can get in each this time?

I'm gonna be a spectator too. There's no way that my car will be done by May, realistically.

I'll have fun eating the burgers while you guys thrash on the dyno.

That depends on who you ask and how the computer was working at that point in time

Mark97z was on and off in 20 mins with 2 passes.

I was on over 45 mins with my 2 passes...(dern 'puter done broke down)

As i recall the when I went there was extra time left over at the end for us to get on a second time if we wanted.

It was definetly a great time, got to meet some of the guys and get an idea as to whether the hard work paid off.

Oh, and thanks Kev for organizing this event, its greatly appreciated.
Im not sure if I'll make it this year, my car probably wont be moving too far.

Ya, im still around

Actually havent been down to the track, last summer i was crazy busy and couldnt find the time, let alone some drag radials

It wasnt really as big of a show as i was looking for, but still decent without much tuning.

Im not sure if I'll have it out this year, I'll be in school during the summer so funds will be tight. Plus i need new seats, subframe connectors and wouldnt mind a set of 91-92 z28 rims.

That 305 of yours was very impressive

Hey Brad, Yeah as it goes we all get on the dyno for a few runs with some minor tweaking and adjustments. Some will probably take longer than others. We have only done the 4 hours with 10 cars and there was time to do a couple more. Glenn is pretty good that way, I don't think he actually puts us on the clock. He actually asked people to show up early last fall as he was alone, so in essence we had it all day. Even if you don't want to run your car, come out anyways, like I said it's a great day to meet and greet the new members and just to hang out and watch.
A pic before the fun began...

Haha, I got burned once on my headers, and it was brutal, took like a month before it totally healed. Any how, I am removing all my heater hoses and replacing them.
The aftermath...sorta

Once a date us set, we can set up a commitee to organize the BBQ. It's still in the early stages of planning this event, but with the interest so far, this could be a great event.
Trigger, thanks for the offer of your home. Once we know how many people are planning to attend, we can decide the best locale for the BBQ. If more than the 18 people show up for this, even just to be there as an observer, you might change your mind.
I was thinking of more along the lines of Victoria Park where there will be ample parking and might even end up being a bit of a Show N' Shine. Who knows, it's still along time away, except for those that still have mods to do...
As I find anything out, I will pass it along to you all.

No there have been no updates, as of yet. It's still early. All I can say is that you can plan on it being around May 24th if the weather is clear, in other words no snow or ice. If it's raining, we will still go ahead with it. I will make an official announcement near the beginning of May. Right now I am thinking of creating time slots for everyone to book, so that things run smoothly and everyone will know what time to be there. I would think that the T.O. guys will probably book close together so as to come down as a group. Same as the Kitchener, London and Hamilton people will probably do.
As for the BBQ, I will ask for some help when the time comes. We will have a committee to organize it. Trigger has mentioned a couple of locations where we could have it, but nothing has been decided yet. I will let everyone know.

Hmmm, that kinda puts a damper on it. Well nothing is written in stone. I will do what the majority wants to do. I am only tentively booked in at Forrest & Forrest Racing. Two other dates that are possible is May 24th ( not too get confused with the long weekend of the 17-19th) or Saturday June 14th.

Two other dates that are possible is May 24th ( not too get confused with the long weekend of the 17-19th) or Saturday June 14th.
I will be at the Camaro Nationals on June 14th, sorry

I am good to go with May 24th
