Found a cheap hooker today...

Was planning on making a trip across the border to pickup a catback exhaust but found this deal on ebay

Link

Now I'll actually be able to tell my car is running when sitting inside at idle

Here's a pic for those too lazy to click on the above link.

I can hear my car idle from even deep inside of the house...

having the cat back did a nice amount, but its the y-pipe and cat that really bring out the sound nice. Can't wait for the headers, neighbours will hate me...

Do you mean lack there of for the cat??? I'm not leaving the cat on.

Oh and my neighbours will probably be happy to hear my exhaust. My street is getting more and more polluted with the constant buzz or import exhaust.

Uhh... You'll probably need that come emissions time...

Agreed on the leaving the tips in the box idea though, although not because they might rust.

I'm hoping to do an engine swap by next summer... Keeping the exhaust I have on there now handy so when it's time to go again I'm just gonna bolt up the old one again with the cat.

And if you get a spot road-side inspection from a police officer who's in a bad mood?

Besides, even with a non-original engine you'd still need the cat for emissions testing purposes since the car originally came with one (unless I have been grossly misinformed).

MARK!!! Where ya been?? Glad to see your still alive...

This emissions stuff is a joke. If a vehicle qualifies for Hot Rod status, it does NOT require, Cat, PCV, Emission pump. Pugre canister, not even the EGR valve is required. So what message are they sending out to people?? That the Friking Government can't get their stories straight???

My SS has nothing!! and I mean nothing! It has a 350 TPI so it qualifies for Hot Rod status. I was told at every shop I inquired about it, that it does NOT require all the emissons crap to be tested. What a Oxy-Moron the Government has going here

Actually I was told that it goes to 1981 standards, but that isn't to far off anyway...
