Thanks guys... Here's the vital info.. it came out a little hotter than I planned because I bought my heads second hand, and never imagined they would have been milled. Just out of curiosity I cc'd them and the chambers are 70cc instead of the production 76cc. I based my CR calculations on 76 and wanted to be safe on pump gas. This change puts me around 11.5:1 which should be interesting.

Block: 010 2 bolt .030 over (thanks Xhiron)
Heads: World Products S/R ported to 180cc on the intake side
Crank: Production 400 turned to fit 350 mains
Rods: Production LT1
Pistons: Keith Black Signature Series Domes
Cam: Comp XE284H (.510 exhaust)
Intake: "Professional Products" air gap
Carb: Holley 780 VS (after break in and dyno will be replaced with a DP)
I used all ARP hardware for the first time as well...

Quick question: When you guys put the sealant on your head bolts... how far up the threads do you usually go? I used Permatex #2 BTW.

Looking Great!!! Should pull pretty nice.

I usually put the sealant about a half inch up the thread all the way round. Never had a leak yet on any of the ones I have built.. "Knock on wood that" is.

Are the LT1 rods powdered metal? How much did you pick them up for?

Enjoy that beast.

Yes, the LT1 rods are indeed powdered metal. They are good to well over 500HP. I actually got them for free with the purchase of alot a bunch of other parts.

Johnny looks awesome man!

You have to find me some of those valvecovers.

FYI, i dont put any sealent on my head studs. (or bolts) When everything is torqued down to spec, using the lube, sometimes they will leak. Goto GM and get some stop leak which come in the form of little cubes (2 of them). You disolve them in water for a few hrs first then pour it into your rad. No more leaks through the headbolts.

Looking good :hail:

No the trans is still working, if you can call it that...
But since I never ended up getting a chip done, ( was planning on buying DFI this winter) I'm pretty sure I washed the rings out of it. Havent done a leak down yet but it comes off the road next weekend hopefully. Sucks that I still HAVE to drive it for school reasons though. I'm planning on buying the Holley Commander 950 system, and hopefully when I get it apart all it needs is a hone and new rings, and I'll put new bearings in too....I'll keep you posted...

Oh yeah, Im toying with the idea of a cam change since I'll have the 950 unit I can go bigger, along with some port work, so if anyone wants an LT4 hotcam I might have one for sale with the springs as well.
