Interesting..

I haven't really looked more into this but $1500?
I pay less than 1/3 of that for for my modified vehicle insurance with Lant/Silver Wheels modified policy.

Am I missing something, is this maybe insurance coverage for on the street AND track while racing?

I pay about 475 with Lant but as you know the car has to be a certain age etc. I havn't looked into this new coverage either and I won't be switching from Lant.

I think the idea here was to get coverage for vehicles that were'nt all that old and where companies were dropping people for having just minor modifications to the car. I'd be surprised if any company would agree to provide coverage while racing for only $1500.

With respect to racing though, I think the insurers might be on the hook anyway for injuries to third parties - like if you go off and hit a spectator - because all auto policies apply to "injuries arising out of the use and operation of a motor vehicle" so it's arguable.

What happened? About a year ago I remember people having problems ordering brakes parts from them but since then I think they've been bending over backwards to make people happy.

She bought two new rotor's for 1996 Trans Am, they charged her for 4 and would not refund the other two, so we asked for the other two then. They said they would ship them but they never arived. After several phone call including talknig to William himself they alway "on the next currior out the door" but again never came.

Then they were "you havnt received them yet?" but when i asked for tracking #'s I got the typical "we will look into this" but never heard back or received them.

In the end small claims court just didnt seem feasable so we reported it to the BBB and gave up.

They've done a hell of a lot for S1 and S2 sponsorship this year.

Thats OK, U can deal with them.

For me, If they cant handle two rotors, the last thing I want to do is trust them for a claim on my whole car

He's real smooth on the phone too, managed to drag it out for almost a year. Last thing I herd from his was, sorry sir, we'll send it out again tomorow at 9:00 with a complementary set of brake pads for your trouble............

Well like they say "Tomorow Never come's" and yes I did re chk the address they were "shipping" too.

I'm paying less than $500 a year for full coverage on the TA so I won't be switching any time soon.

I posted this for general information and people can follow up on it if they want. Your own experience with Williams should be considerd as part of that general information. Myself, I'd wait a year or so and see what happens with the proposed insurance scheme if I was intersted in it at all.

I doubt it would be Williams Insurance per se as they will not have enough cash to underwright such a programme - one good claim would wipe them out and there's rules about setting up insurance companies anyway.

There's more information about all of this on the CASC site although I havn't read it. They also set up an office with an adjuster to answer questions.

In my experiance with auto insurance cases they pretty much try to f'ck you over no matter what but with this it seems that insuring modded cars would a recognised aspect of the policy and I expect the policy would be underwritten by some existing Ins. Co. Their adjusters would handle the claims not William..lol.

Yups, said my speel. Not my money being spent now

I wish I could get insurance for $500 a year on my car, but its too new.

When i bought the 92, it was only $1200 a year, full covereage with 3 speeding tickets to my name at that time. Now 4 years later and its got some mod's they want $3600 a year and I got NO speeding or any other tickets on my record.

Yet for my 1998 Full size Ext cab 4x4 Chev truck its only $600 a year.

Want a real confusing one, our 1996 Boniville se, 4 door v6 basic options, costs more for insurance then our 1996 Z28, leather T's 350 6-Speed. Figure that one out.
Boni $2400
Z28 $1800
wtf

Getting rediculas

Schit, it costs me $1500 with no collision for my 91 Ranger, V6, ext cab, 2x2 and it's probably only worth about $3-4K with luck. Probably got something to do with living in Toronto though.

My sister had an older Bonniville and it cost her more than I paid for the TA back when we all lived in Stouffville.

The insurance industry needs a good kickin..lol.
