Lol.. the LG4 is going good after it was cleaned up and painted over the winter. The heads have been polished so much on the outside that they look like aluminum and the GM Parts Performance sticker on the fan shroud has added about 150 HP. I might get some kevlar stickers from crap tyre so that the car will be lighter and hook and corner like a bastard.

Yeah - I can't wait to drop the frame but first I'm going to lower it 8 feet by getting new rims.

Yeah - I got rid of that years ago and the radio/tape deck should come out of there as well - just dead weight; I'd rather listen to the car anyway.

This is a weird thread

So I assume GM fixed the valve? I've always been curious about the GMPP warranties.

Yeah - there was no problem with that. Might have been a different story if it happened six months after the install though.

Daz - I was thinking the same thing about the guages - would look better where the radio is.

George, does your LG4 still have stock intake/emissions on it? I have 3 mystery broken vacuum lines and I'm missing the label under the hood. EGR, dist vacc. advance and EFE. The EFE was disabled years ago but the vac. line going to it became brittle and broke into little pieces like the rest. I can't tell what belongs where.

What headser are you running? 1 5/8", 1 3/4", long tube or shorties? do they go into one cat and 1 exhaust or true duals? I am looking for headers for my 88 players.

1 5/8 Hedman Shorties, Hedman Y-Pipe, Highflow Cat and Hooker 3 inch Cat-Back. There is also a cutout after the Y-Pipe.

Thats the exact same setup I have.... except I have a different cat back. I have been very pleased with mine so far. The cut-out seems to make up for any flow difference at the track.

Me three minus the cutout(same headers, y-pipe, hooker catback) altho that'll be going on this summer sometime. I need a little y-pipe adjustment done. It's touching my pan slightly!

George, hopefully you Jay and I will all be able to meet up this summer for some type of solo racing. Would be great fun.

Also SOLO 1 school is May 7 & 8 at the Mosport DDT great school for the $$$, aprox $495 for 2 days- good value.

First SOLO 1 race is 28 & 29 May at Shannonville, PRO track and Fabi track.
Also lapping at Mosport DDT April 22 sponsored my OMSC. approx. $ 130 for the day.

See you out there!!!!

Hey George looking good. Amazing how a little paint and clean up on your old engine can make her go so much better eh? Man my LS1 swap is still far from finished. Its all the little odds and sods that are killing me. I think my car is going to handle a little awkward at first cause I really have no idea what front springs to put in now that I'm dropping so much weight so I'm gonna throw in some cut ones for now until I can weigh it and get some ordered. I can hardly wait to hit the track whoot!

I had the same problem - one inch spacer on left side of the y-pipe at the header junction cured it

Yeah, we all need to look at the schedules and think about dates. Also, whether to do a lap day or one of the Solo 1 events.

There is/was a CASC one time deal where they let you do a Solo 1 race at a reduced price. I don't think you have to complete a school for this whereas at the April 22 lap day, OMSC will want you to take their school (same day) if they don't know you or you are unable to establish prior experience. The school isn't that much - $60 or so. Maybe Steve can comment a bit more on the CASC deal.

I hope to be there on April 22 although the car may not be ready.

As far as I know there will be a few people there from TFBM so April 22 would be a good day to get lots f-bodies on the track.

Steve - are you going to the April 22 lap day??

Lol.. the sticker good for about 100 HP as well.

Ask around on frrax.com about the spring rates - most of them race their cars and might have some advice.

Lol.. I figure the t-junction on my heater hose should be letting go in a big way anytime soon - they all do that eventually.
