Rock'N the Iroc.
Boy, Q107 sure is getting stale lately.
Y108 is on fire man!
I haven't been soo excited about new rock music since way back when.....
i.e
Sum41 - Pieces
Foo Fighters - Best of You
Linkin Park - In the End
Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue
Weezer - We are All on Drugs
Shinedown - Burning bright
The Ataris - Boys of Summer
Yellowcard - Only One
Theory of A Deadman - Santa Monica
Nickelback - Photograph
3 Doors Down - When I'm Gone
Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Foo Fighters - DOA
Our Lady Peace - Where Are You
Stained - Right Here
Yellowcard - Inside Out
Sum 41 - Still Waiting
3 Days Grace - I Hate Everything about You
and on and on and on..........

From what I understand, it's been a couple years or so. It's Y108 (www.y108.ca). Hamilton's new rock station.
I believe prior to that it was a country music station, and prior to that it was FOXY108 (old dance classics and funk music) and prior to that (10 years or so) it was, I believe, z108 (Toronto Dance music station).
Anyways, since this rap crap was taking over alot of stations since a few years back I hardly tuned into any music station, other than Q107. Everybody knows Q107 of course. I love the old rock classics, but there's just soo much I could take.
Y108 is awesome (if you like mostly new rock, and a few classics thrown in the mix). Next to it it's got to be 97.7 for new rock!

Oh by the way, once I make it past Oshawa going east the station tends to cut out. I'm not sure if radio listeners in Ajax can pick it up.

I should be able to grab that one. I'm west of Oshawa. There was another Halmonton station I oooosted to like, 95.5 or something like that. They are gone now I think. All I usually have programmed is 107.1, 97.7 and 102.1 or is it 103.something. Keep forgetting that one. Everytime I disconnect the damn car battery, gotta find it again.
I can listen to lots of stuff from folk to blues to rock to gawd knows what else but can't hande rap, hip hop/house/tranz or any of it's ilk.

Ya Y108 is a good one! My favourite new rock song is Striken by Disturbed, the whole album rocks! Is Y108 playing that one? I hear it on 97.7htzfm all the time. I'd love a station that plays more of a 60/40 mix of classic and new rock, I usually go back and forth between 107.1 and 97.7.
I really dont understand why Stained - "Right Here" is so popular? I find it boring as hell and just like every other Stained/Default/TOAD/etc. song out there?

So Y108 is good, eh? I live in Hamilton while going to school and when I moved in in August there were all these black billboards that, in huge white letters, said "Toronto Sucks!" along Main Street. They just stayed that way for three weeks with no explanation and I thought it was pretty funny. Then one day they were changed to say "Hamilton Rocks! Y108." Pretty good advertising if you ask me!
I'll have to check it out.
