The big debate...
The big debate...
My car goes into the paint shop in about a week and I'm debating on whether to keep my hood louvers or go with the late 3rd Gen style hood blisters.
What do you guys think...louvers or blisters?

Keep in mind guys I got some custom paint going on the front of my car...I should have mentioned that in the first post actually, my bad.
I talked to a couple others and they are both saying the hood blisters. So the count sits at 2 and 2 right now.
Unfortunately, if I do go with the blisters I need to get them within the next week...which means I may have to go to Paradise Alley. I might as well just start to bend over now! Ouch!

Long Explanation
Well sorry boys, but I decided to hunt down a set of blisters. I'll explain why...It has to do with the paint job. I wasn't going to say anything until it was all done and I could post some pics, but here goes...
The front nose of my car needed to be painted because of some cracking on the front spoiler and the white being a slightly different white than the hood or the rest of the car...Thanks to a cheap paint job on the nose by the previous owner. Well, I have a buddy who said he could get me a good price from this custom shop. I went to visit him and to make a long story short he gave a good price on repainting the whole front end. I got to thinking, since the whole front is going to be painted anyway, why not get something a bit different...So I decided to get some pearl ghost flames! It was only a little bit more money so I decided to go with it. The flames will be elongated, with a bit of overlapping. They will be done in silver pearl with a blue pearl or red pearl on the tips of the flames. The rest of the car will remain white.
Now to sum it up...the reason why I'm going to go with the blisters over the louvers is the more I thought about it, the more the louvers seemed like they would look a little out of place and too busy with the ghost flames curled around them. The blisters would be body colour (white) and blend in a little better with the new paint scheme...at least that's what I'm thinking. The one advantage is I can always put louvers back in if I decide I don't like the look as they are only a bolt on. If I decide to stay with the blisters, the louver have been going for over $50 USD on eBay so I could always recoup some of my cost.
Now what do you guys think? Have I swayed you?

Oh and don't get me wrong, I like the louvers too. If I wasn't getting the custom flames and just painting the car all white, I wouldn't have even thought about it twice...louvers for sure in that case.
Dooood!! Thats gonna look sweeeet!!!! I was gonna do ghost racing stripes on my first grand am... checkered racing stripes.. then I smartened up, and got a real car to do up
You have to come down to a cruise night and show myself and the guys in the Niagara F-Body club!!! We'd love to see it.
I have a digital camera too, if you want to take some nice pics for the net

I thought I could sway you guys once you heard the reasoning behind it. I didn't want to say anything till it was done, wanted to leave it for a surprise otherwise I would have said that from the get-go. I can't wait to get it done!
I'm sure I'll be able to make it down for a Niagara cruise in the summer
If you all want to get a presummer look at it, I'll be show it off in the Toronto F-body Motorsports booth at Performance World.

a stick in the mud...
I guess I'm like a stick in the mud.
I love the look of the IROC with louvres and especially like the acrylic arctic white finish. Can't figure why you'd want to put flames on ? (Guess I'll get flamed on that statement eh ?) although trick paint can be fun.
I like the stock look.
have a nice day,
RP.
