Had my dates wrong, should be May 4-5 2002

I checked the calender AFTER making a bunch of noise about a gathering in early May.

I checked my Windows 2000 calendar and it says Saturday and Sunday are not May 2-4, in fact are May 4-5, or 3-4-5 if you include the Friday.

Friday May 3/2002
Saturday May 4/2002
Sunday May 5/2002

When I get back into town (I am in Los Angelos this week) I am going to see about banging on doors of GM dealerships to see if we can get some vendor support for our gathering. Has anyone had any experience with this before ? Can we buddy up with any other GM clubs for that weekend (maybe help keep costs down by increasing our numbers) ?

Sorry for the confusion about the dates !
RP.

May 2-4 is slang for the May 24th long week-end.... the event will be held from May 17- May 19. Sorry I should have been more clear about that. I hope that you will still be able to make it on the long week-end. As for vendor support, I've contacted the track as a start. Your idea about hooking up with other clubs is great... I will definitely explore this avenue.

I also edited the topic title... again, sorry for the confusion.

Ha, ha...
Ok, BAD news that I have my dates all messed up (not to mention my slang) -- GOOD news the May 24 weekend is wide open for me.

If you need any help (johnyIROC) organizing I'd be glad to assist. Let me know ?

thx,
RP.

I just assumed for some reason that everyone called it may two-four weekend.... The slang started because the original victoria day holiday used to be on May 24th.. hence May two-four. For some reason, over the years the actual holiday has been moved... but people continue calling it May two-four. Maybe it's just from the small town that I grew up in

I will take you up on your offer for help too! I am not sure if we should set an itinerary.... or let everyone kind of do their own thing... what do you guys think of these ideas:

-BBQ (get to know everyone)
-Thirdgen Cruize (cruize the strip in a pack)
-Ontario regional thirdgen show (maybe get some donated prizes)
-Take digital pics and vids of all members cars for the site

Perhaps we can get some of the TFbM members to come out. The club can afford to sponsor any thing, but they may be able to provide us with a couple nice f-bodys!

IF you invite another car club it will become their event ..IMO..Im really excited about a gathering like this..Im not too excited to see a TFBM gathering though

IMO Its more special if its more about the people that visit this site instead of another one of their clubs gathering..Theres more of them and mostly 4th gen..

Yeah, the guys at TFbM are nice.. but it'd be swamped with 4th gens, and I'd like a 3rd gen specific meeting The TFbM'ers have lots of meetings anyway....

Ok, understood...They are mostly dominated by 4th Gen siblings. This is why I need more of you guys to join up! I go to meets and at least 75% of the time I'm the only 3rd Gen They are great guys...but I get killed at the 1/4 mi everytime we have a track meet.
