Car eats WAY to much oil

ever since i swaped heads and a cam about 700 miles ago I go through oil like water. I'm up to 1/2 qt every 60 miles. NO smoke what so ever. Exhaust smells perfect. antifreeze looks great and 0 leaks. Plugs look good. No oil leaks except when I stop and shut off the car. it'll drip a quarter size puddle under the front main. Where is this oil going? Vacume is 14hg's with a 112 lsa cam and it idles nice and smooth. Car runs great. Could it be the front main leaking when i get tto WOT all the pressure in the crankcase pushing the oil out? I'm using Mobil 1 15w-50

could be, I had a front main leak on mine and it got to about that point in consumption.

However, oil was EVERYWHERE< all over the chassis and exhuast and smoke everywhere and everything, it was very obvious...

You may be sucking oil from the lifter valley into the lower part of the intake port. This can happen if the intake gasket does not seal properly.

Have you gone to the track yet?

Sorry to change the subject, i was just curious how your car is running with that combo. It is basically the same as mine except for the heads. Mine seems to be running very lean, All of my block learns are maxed on the lean side.

I am also having a similar oil problem as you are, just not as extreme. no smoke, no leaks, nut using oil.

I love the combo. miss the low low end TQ though. All my block learns are within +3- I'm running the stock chip, stock 22lbs and a stock maf. I got an ed write custom chip but my stock chip WAY out performs his. my idle is at 550 and it is nice and lopey. with my ed write chip all my block learns were maxed out on the lean side and it ran like crap on start up with his chip. I put my stock one in and its like a new car.

I was suprised my car still has a ton of low end torque even with no exhaust, I am not sure why. I was hoping to lose a lot of it.
