OK, WE ALL KNOW THE POWER NUMBER, AND THE PRICE, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE LITTLE THINGS? 1: WHERE ARE THE VACCUM FITTINGS? 2: WHERE DO YOU HOOK UP THE FUEL LINES?
3: ARE THERE 2 HOOKUPS FOR THE FUEL LINES, MAIN AND RETURN 4: WHAT ABOUT PROVISIONS FOR THE AIR INTAKE, AND WATER TEMP SENSORS? AND IS THERE ANY ILLUSTRATIONS ON A STEP BY STEP INSTALL OF THIS MANIFOLD?

do a search man.............
This has all been covered before...here is the list:
Here are the parts we needed to install this.
-Used a 85 Camaro Carbureted upper radiator hose (Dayco 71028) (trimmed the ends back)
- Use a std. small block Chevy waterneck (Mr. Gasket PN 2661)
-Two 1/4" x 1/8"NPT straight barb fittings (rear of intake, MAP sensor and other items, I run only one line to MAP)
-One 3/8" x 3/8" NPT straight barb fitting (rear of intake other vacuum items)
-One 3/8" x 3/8" NPT 90 deg. barb (goes under plenum, used for brake booster)
- 2 feet 1/4" vacuum hose
- 2 feet 3/8" vacuum hose
- (1) 5/16" compression fitting to -6 male AN
- (1) 3/8" compression fitting to -6 male AN
- (2) 3-1/2 foot -6 line with female hose ends. Goes from inlet and outlet to fuel stock fuel lines which are cut from underneath car, the two compression fittings are installed on the stock fuel line.
- (3) 1/4" vacuum plugs for EGR solenoid and throttle body
- (1) large clamp
All the vacuum ports are machined into the plenum. The current lowers don't have the late style center bolts machined, but I am getting future ones machined correctly to fit both. Can't say when for sure. Used the stock air inlet.
You lose EGR and we didn't hook the coolant to the throttle body. Need to use the small cap GM HEI. Coil mounted with stock bracket in stock location.
Didn't have to modify any wiring.
Also the fuel lines are attached to the rear of the intake not at the front like the stockers....

BG,
Well I got mine like tue, but like everyone else I m waiting for the
fuel rails, their suppose to go out like the 15th. I'm not sure how there going to hook up, but I'll find out when the kit comes. Now all of your sensors and stuff like that, well that shouldn't be too hard, cause you already got the holes drilled and threaded in HSR,
So you just got to relocate them to the new one. The sensor go into different areas, but nearly the same place. It really doesn't like look it would to hard to do if you just take your time. Now the only real thing that look's like a little pain will be the fuel lines. I think that would be the only thing I m not too sure about taking on by myself. But the basic install shouldn't be that hard at all, its just replacing the intake. If you haven't done it before, it may be a prob, but not really hard.

I could be wrong but the stealth ram intake sits considerably higher than the TPI intake. As-is there's little clearance between the tpi intake and the stock trans am hood, and i don't believe a stealth ram would fit in your car. I am assuming you have the stock hood of course. I could be wrong..........

I thought that somebody did put it under a stock Firebird hood, but it required a little "massaging". Let me see if I can find the post.

Now, At the moment I have my tranny supported by a jack, not the crossmember, so I might need a little more clearanace, but even with the support dented in as it is now, there's still another 3/8" or so between it and the hood skin, so If i need more I'll just notch out that section of the support and It will have enough room.
The contact points were, as predicted, the two side bolt bulges on the top of the throttle body.
This is using a stock tpi throttle body, btw, in an 82 trans am with the normal hood (no turbo bulge or anything), stock motor mounts.

stealth ram installation?
OK fellas, calm down, no reason to argue. I done know about what mods have to be done to get it to clear the hood, but I'm not worried about it because I have a huge *** ram air hood. and yes I know this question has been done to death a million times, however, not in this way. i'm needing pics of all the hook ups on the stealth ram compared to what they were on a stock tpi. and i really need close ups of all the vacuum connections and fuel line connections. cuz when it comes time for the motor to be put back into the car, i'm going to have to take it to a dealership cuz i don't have a tripod. and you can imagine what kind of bill i will have if they spend a week just fabricating ****. if i already have it done, it would just be a hook up kind of deal. so if there's any way possible, please post some pics of this for me. and as for other people posting...can't we all just get along?

G0D DA*N where's the pics fella's? i don't mean to be an ******* but i got's to see some close up's of all the hookups!! cmon guy's lets see them!!!!!
badgta,
I highly doubt a dealer service dept would touch a stealth ram install. You could probably find a smaller garage or performance shop to do it for you, but quite honestly, this is so new that no-one is going to have even heard of it before, except for maybe a hardcore performance shop.
Its not a stock installation and there is going to be improvising and fabricating, its part of the territory. I've installed my manifold, but not yet the fuel rail. Here's the stuff that I've ran across thats going to be not stock: The heater hoses and water neck are typical carb-style setup, you might need a new upper rad hose. You'll have to find a water neck that fits. The fuel lines will be -6 AN on the supply and return, I dont know where they are located but I'm guessing in the drivers rear area of the manifold. The stock TPI throttle body bolts on, but you might have to plug a vacuum port on it. There are two tapped vacuum ports on the drivers back of the plenum, looks like 3/8 NPT, you'll have to get hose nipples and re-run all the vacuum line from that. The throttle cables should fit using the bracket from the tpi.
The great thing about the stealth ram is its price. Having someone install it just kills that. It's really not that hard to install, I'd just wait until I had the time and resources to install it myself. That way, you'll know its done right and if theres a problem you'll know where to look.

92TPIZ28 ok those are not headers those are the stock exhaust manifolds. Those 4 little metal cable things are not cables at all those are the air tubes...... you throw all that stuff out when you put headers on which come with there own air tubes that you attach to the smog pump.......

It's kinda silly for you to expect a step-by-step on an intake that's NOT HARDLY RELEASED YET, young jackal. Don't fear the new product. Embrace it and install it, and let us know how it goes.
PS, your hood looks like... allergy season is here.

badgta, check your attitude at the door, and also please get rid of the huge picture in your sig, nobody cares what your hood looks like. If i have to manually edit it out myself i will simply block you from this forum, because a.) you have a bad attituude and b.) you expect the most basic of procedures to be spelled out for you. (yes, installing an intake is so easy that if you need pictures, you should probably just not even bother, because when something does go wrong, you will just be screwed.)
Also, you want to rethink the name of your little racing clique. We are still the one and only ICON motorsports, and while we can't discourage biters on other boards, we can keep you from acting like one of us here. You guys are pathetic, i mean, do you think you could have at least tryed not to get pictures of your trailer park in the background of half your images on the site? Bring the racing ROFLMAO...you don't even know how to pinstall an intake and you think you can hang with us. Bwahahahahahahahahahah, try again kids.
