Differences in throttle bodies
I bought a BBK 52mm throttle body that a friend was using on his '89 Corvette and I have an '86 Trans Am. Of course they changed the throttle cables and levers somewhere in that time, but here is what I found. It looks like my stock throttle cable will hook up to the cruise control stud on the TB lever and it will still hit WOT. The problem actually starts with the throttle cable braket that bolts to the plenum. In order to make things line up I would have to change the shape of the cruise control hole in the braket to accomodate the throttle cable. Also I will have to elongate the screw holes in braket to slide it forward since that distance is a bit long for my cable.
So instead of doing this, do you think it would be better to get a throttle cable from an '89 or newer f-body? Does the braket change over the years?
Thanks for the help

Yes, you are correct and I do have the rest of the matching TPI stuff except for the throttle cable. I would just like some conformation saying that I can or can not use an '89 and newer throttle cable.
