Sea Foam

Has anyone ever used Sea Foam fuel stabilizer and injector cleaner?

Some guys swear by it.

How safe is it for O2 sensors and injector seals?

After working for 7 years at an auto parts store...I can tell you that I have successfully used Sea Foam in a variety of different vehicles and applications. This is one of the only universal products out there...gas, oil, cleans carbon from the intake and CC...

It is safe to use on all fuel injection vehicles and carbed vehicles too...Hell, I even have used it on my 4 stroke lawnmower and snow blower engines. It acts as a fuel stabilizer as well.

They also have Seafoam Trans Tune and spray Deep Creep for a penetrant.

The two only FI cleaners I would use are Seafoam and Chevron FI cleaner products.

HTH,

I just did an upper intake cleaning with Sea Foam.

I put it in a container and let the PCV suck it in. I was hoping it would cure a rough idle , in case the EGR was stuck.

It didn't...but the car seems to run better above idle.

Yup the stuff is good. We sell at our shop. Use the engine stuff in the engine and gas tank . And just dumped some in my tranny at its last service. They have seafoam for engine, tranny, and fuel. Just make sure you grab the right can. Cause they look alike.

HTH,
Deep Creep is just regular old sea foam in a spray can.....I knew watching that informational vid would come in handy some day I work in a parts store too and I use it in my truck,my lawn mower. that stuff is the shizznet. It was origionally developed well made in a guys garrage in the 1930s for marine applications. The inventer was tired of having to tear down the engine of his boat every season and spend 2 days working on the engine just so he could go fishing. So he developed this fuel stablizer that would keep the fuel good for the winter months. well It turns out that this product that he invented also worked great for cleaning out the carb, valves, and cylinders so he started selling the stuff to friends and it just cought on. It is completely safe to use in all applications IE: carbed, fuel injected, two stroke and deisel engines.

The reccomended use is to fully treat the car with sea foam. Dribble 1/3 of the can into a vaccum source like the ones on the throttle body (for fuel injected cars) for carb ones just pore down the venturi. Deep creap is better for injecting directly into the engine as it is sea foam in a spray can that will mist the sea foam better. Once you feel you are getting really close to using a 1/3 can pour enough or spray enough to kill the car while running. Wait 5-7 min and start the car back up.

Pour the seciond 1/3 can into the fuel tank

Pour the final 1/3 of the can into the crank case to clean the engine without lowering the viscosity of the oil.

WARNING: well more of a just to let you know Sea Foam is a fully petrolium based product in other words when you are pouring the can or using deep creap in the throttle body or carb the car will smoke quite a bit (like enough to think you are seing a smoke screen before someone comes out of it to kill you could be your neighbor) Seriously this stuff causes alot of smoke IE: enough to cover your neighborhood.when using this way but it is the most effective way of cleaning your engine out.

It sure does smoke. And when the smoke clears....you'll probably find little pieces of carbon on your driveway.
