You have to take the valve covers off to put SLP's on, so you might as well do that now it will make the job a lot easier on the stockies!!!

Also there is a bolt on the under the plenum going towards the outsides of the car on each runner.... THe one on the passanger side is towards the front, and the one on the drivers side is towards the back by the distributor and is a REAL BIATCH!!!
GOOD LUCK its not to bad though the valve covers are harder Dont forget to drain the antifreeze!!

no need to remove the valve covers, i never had to and i've taken mine off twice, they just take a little wiggling but they will go in. save money not having to replace gaskets. the bolts are where he said. good luck, i like mine

how in the hell can you tighten those lower runner bolts on the SLP runners with the valve covers in place!? Maybe it's because I've got tall covers, but there's no way in blue hell that I can do that. Hell... there's only about 3/8" between my runners and my valve covers.

I hve never had to take the valve covers off to put on or take off my slp runers, just get a wobbly neck attachment and a 2inch and 4 inch ext. for your ratchet. Piece of cake, with some bending over

thanks guys, i'll attempt this after work today. so if injectors arn't in the way and the valve covers dont' need to come off, i might get this done a little easier than i thought it was. do i need to remove the throttle body from plenum when i take it off, can i just leave it attatched n remove it in on peice so i don't have to buy a new gasket?

well as long as you got your SLP runner wrench you won't have to take anything off to put them on. Trust me I yanked them off about 20 times,Now for your Throttle Body you can just leave it connected to your plem. You may have to disconnect your coolet from your TB but then you can just set it from the side. To take off your old bolts you just need a ext. or two med. ones to reach it. Now heres the only prob, I ran into you may have to reuse a couple of your old bolts cause they don't have med. size just large and small ones.

With tall covers, there's NO room. I couldn't even fit the stock loom tubing that goes around the AC and alternator wires. I had to route the wiring inside of my runners near the rails. The injector wiring was totally out of the question.

Oh yeah I agree if you have taller valve covers theres no other way, If you have stock though you don't have to take them off.

Welll..... if you would get those silly covers off of it you would be able to R&R the runners without messing with the covers . I use a regular allen wrench and a pliers to do the 'torque-ing' and loosening of those bottom four bolts and mine work fine. I have had even better luck with stock heads as the VCs sit a bit lower than they do on my TFS heads (they have raised VC sealing surface decks) and I can get my allen sockets in there. A slightly longer than normal allen (6mm is it?) would do the trick.... hmm... time for a new tool . Where's the local drug dealer (Snap-on guy) when you need him!! lol.....

....j/k on the covers.... they look pretty sweet with a TPI .
