Head/Intake combo for tpi
What are some good combos for a L98 tpi motor. im not looking to make crazy amounts of power, but id like an extra 40-50.
i was thinking about the vortec heads and intake form sdpc.
i also need to stay emissions legal...

Id really stay away from any TPI performance parts. Try something along the lines of stealth ram/ superram. As for heads, AFR heads seem to get good reviews. Ill be having my factory aluminum heads done by FLP (great to have them in my backyard!). It looks like having your heads done is cheaper but alot more downtime. Ill be going superram, but i wouldnt unless i was getting the deal i am. Try thunderracing.com for a stealthram setup.

Fast Burn heads are nice. Ligenfelter and edelbrock makes intakes for a TPI setup. SLP runners work nice. Porting will help too.
I dont know how much money you are going to spend but I would get the stealth ram and some 113 Corvette heads and have them ported and I would get me a good cam too.
But before I would get a stealth ram I would make sure it would pass emissions.

ESPECIALLY the fastburns
I'd just like to put the info out there for people who dont have the means to visually compare with their own hands and eyes for themselves
I was comparing them to each other
Yea i've seen pro actions
After my little experience I would never spend my own money on:
Trickflow
Fastburn
I would have to think long and hard about:
AFR
Edelbrock
Most of this is comparing quality of workmanship with just my head knowledge of where most of them flow at..
Its pretty much undisputed that AFR does some good things with flow numbers.. But when you compare apples to apples any of the other heads could be made to catch up, but with the benifit of a cheaper price and better quality.
Pro actions i still have good faith in, they're a great head

man what is it with people getting names as close to mine as they can lately....
Vortecs are nice.. but the money you spend by the time you get the thing running could easily be spent on some sportsman II's or some mid level aftermarket heads.

Their quality control leaves alot to be desired, IMHO. Thread
