Thought the vales were suppose to tap...not fuel injectors
I have an 88 iroc with the 305 and I thought that my valves were tapping. But today i was out there and put a metal rod up to the valve covers and heard nothing but the engine. I then put it up to the injectors and i heard the tapping. If they really do tap how could i get rid of it. Tried the injector cleaner that you put in the tank but that is just pissing away money.

yeppers...normal for injectors to make clicking sound...manual calls out for a stethoscope and listen for injectors clicking or just put a screwdriver to them and listen to the handle..so no worries clicking is normal...

I know the injectors are suppose to tick, but I mean they are really tinging. They sound like a valve tap but I don't think thats it. Am I suppose to be running premium, I haven't because im a broke college student.

I still think your injectors are fine, maybe the rest of the motor is is such good running order and sealed that the lack of motor noise makes your injectors seem louder?

Shoot.......my wife's 96 GP w/ the 3.1 has tapped like all get out since we bought it w/ 11k on the clock. When cold it sounds almost like a lower end problem. Can't be too bad, car has 119k on it, all I've done is normal maintenance and a alternator and battery. Hell, it's still got the original plugs and wires and still gets almost 30 mpg combined city / highway.
