ZZ9 cam??

Any of you guys running the TPIS ZZ9 cam? Just wondering what the power gains are with this or other comparable cams.

Car: 1988 Firbird
Engine: 406
Transmission: T-56
Axle/Gears: 4.10
I am running the zz-9 cam in my 1986 355 Corvette and it works well. I do not know what kind of power gain the cam gave me over stock but it is a great street cam with a good idle, good gas mileage and good power. My Corvette will idle at 750 RPM, cruise fine at 1750 RPM and it makes max power at 5100 RPM with a long runner TPI sysytem. My RWHP is 286 at 5100 RPM and RWTQ is 344 FTLBS at 3800 RPM. The engine is not stock but there is nothing radical done to it. MY best ET has been 12.69 at 106.5 MPH.

It sound very agry at idle....and respond very well! A few days ago I had the car in the garage and a few kids came and admired the car. Then I started and revved it when they stood a few meters behind it and they got scared!!!

I have stainless exhaust all the way so the sound is hard, you could feel it in the chest.......

LYV18F,
Read his post again. It says he has the ZZ9 in his 86 Vette. The car in his sig is not his 86 Vette.
