Pictures of Clean '89 TPI
I have a '89 IROC with the L98 engine. I'm trying to detail the engine compartment. Can anybody post or point me to pictures of a really clean, completely stock, '89 L98 engine compartment.
Thanks!

You might want to check out one of the corvette sites. Lots of the waxers have killer looking stock engines. Of course they might not know the difference between a differential and a fuel pump, but the cars are pretty.

Being new here, I hope that response isn't the typical level for this board.
Anybody that actually owns a clean 3rd generation IROC willing to help out here?

i don't understand what you mean, scorp508 was merely trying to help you out based on the fact that a lot of corvette owners do have nice looking engine bays. as for 3rd gens with nice engine bays do a search, theres one post that comes to mind that had over 100 pictures of people's engines, shoudl be exactly what you're looking for

How do you describe red to a blind man? If really don't know, then anything I say won't be able to help you.
It's all right, I found all the information I need in the Shop Manual.

Look.... calm yourself.
I have owned my corvette since early 2000 and have logged almost 100k miles on it. During this time I've done all of my own mechanical work including R&R the transmission a few times and R&R the engine. I've also spent my fair amount of time behind Zaino bottles cleaning it. I think its safe to say I've met a lot of them and know that a lot of them spend more time cleaning than anything else. It isn't a dig towards anyone, its gods honest truth.
If you wanna see pretty L98s thats a good place to go whether you like or not. Pretty simple I thought.
Remind me not to bother caring to respond next time, sheesh!

Scorp is right, there are some very nice vettes with TPI motors on some of the vette forums out there, as well as many nice 3rdgens. Also, how could you expect more from this board with people like you on it?
Scorp,
When did you sell the camaro? I thought that was your everyday driver, is the vette running right yet? I saw a lot of your posts on CF but haven't had the time to throughly read them yet, im in a mess of my own, I think you know about that.

trigger GTA, thanks for the photo! That is great angle and excellent quality. Nice & clean, tastefully done. One thing I've noticed in some of the other photos is the air filter channel that goes off to the passenger side. Where is that from?
My '89 is mostly stock, but the last owner was a punk kid that rigged a few things that I wanted to set back to stock.
Thanks for the on-topic response

Another way of looking if you don't want to use the SEARCH button, is to look in the rides section of the web site. It's broken up by years so you could probably find a picture or 2.

I used the search button, found the topic about the engines, looked through them. There were 2 that are the quality that I'm looking for, but the angle/detail of the photo wasn't sufficient. I also looked at the rides section here and other boards. Also did a search on the internet. None of the pictures that I've found so far show the Camaro-specific things I'm looking for.
I just ended up just using the diagrams shown in the Shop Manual and pictures in the Haynes manual to restore the proper locations of things.
Thanks.
