engine combo
engine combo
I plan on building a balanced 383 small block for my 1986 Iroc-Z. However, I have a problem. I know how to build an engine and how to pick parts, but there are so many variables, and everything is so expensive, that I cannot afford to screw up. I have seen strocker combos run 11's, 12's, 13's, and sadly, even 14's. (My hopped up 310 does high 13's) I have a 2300-2500 stall converter and a 3.73 gear. I plan on doing TPI and cannot be talked out of it. So does anyone have a really good combo out there?
The tuned port is a good way to go. I would talk to a company called "Street and Performance" (look up their website on google)
They specialize in fuel injection modifications, especially with chevy v-8's. Hell hers the website link

I converted a 69 corvette to a TPI system with a new v-8 and if your creativity is up to speed and you don't mind some wielding and cutting, you can pretty much do any combination you want. But street and performance are the experts, they can help you

Thanks. But what I mean is, what heads, cam, and tpi aftermarket intakes have given people the best luck and lowest E.T's in these cars with similar drivelines. Why do some peoples cars do 14's with a 383 and some do 11's without a supercharger?
