Cam question

I want to install a cam in my crate motor while its out of the car.

I was thinking of maybe either a LT1 cam, a LT4 cam, a LT4 HOT cam, or something along those lines.

I want something with a little lope, and pull good vacumn. (I delt with bad vacumn once, never again.)

Suggestions?

is it an l98? um, i think u can go lt4 at least...if i was putting in a new motor, id probably get a nice crane or comp cam or check out the lt4 hot cam...for production cams check out gmgoodwrench.com...a lot of people have 350 tpi so a lot of people will have opinions on cams so find out what people have...i dont know too much but id stay around 220's duration and low .500's lift, it depends on what u need it for...hope ive helped i nsome way

thats not a bad choice but i, and most people ud ask, would say u could do a lot meaner, i understand ur desire for streetableness (ooh)...look around on ebay and u may find some good deals - im the highest bidder on a used lt1 cam for 2 bucks, i dunno if ill use it but for 2 bucks, i might as well...

A huge cam doesn't fit into what I want/need for this car. I want something with some more highend while being able to run my AC in florida summers, and not have poor mileage on the highway.

Plus, the reason I am doing the cam now instead of later, is that its out of the car, might as well. I am on somewhat limited funds and dont want to have to buy the $500 LT4 HOT kit, new torque converter, vacumn canister and have the chip burned so it'll work without problems.
