Need help with ScanTool readings...
Need help with ScanTool readings...
Problem: Starts up with no SES. Within 10-15 seconds SES sets with a code 33. Still drivable but running real rich in limp-home mode I guess because of the SES.
Here's the info from Scanner, some of it I don't know about but trust someone here can see a problem. Sorry but alot....
At Idle-Closed Loop with SES light on (MAF 33)
TPS .60v
O2 volts .17v
Park/Neutral On
Prom ID 8201 (HyperJunk)
RPM 750
MAF 6 g/s (Wells SU145) Value moves up with increased throttle, so looks to be working.
MAT 51deg C
O2 Cross 0
O2 State Lean
Inj PW 1.6-1.7
INT 128
Knk Signal No
Cool Temp 80deg C
EGR Position On
EGR D/C % 0
IAC 24
BLM 160
I need someone to decipher this to "here's your problem" or anything in that direction. I'm still learning about the Scanner values and what they can tell you.
Hope someone can help....
Thanks
Tim

well i belive code 33 has something to do with the MAF Low Voltage i think? or is it High Voltage? .. i dont have my code book with me.. could be one of your MAF relays, and seeing that you are getting a reading, it might be your MAF burnoff relay... im just guessing.. i dont have a ton of knowabouts about scanning.. good luck man

You may not be closed loop. When in closed loop the O2 crosscount will be more than zero, the O2 millivolts will be constantly going above and below approx. 450, the integrator will be changing at least a little, and the rich/lean will also bounce back and forth like the millivolts. This is all of course without a code, not in limp home mode. What happens in limp home mode with these values I don't know. Good luck.

TPS voltage should be .54-.56 volts.
O2 voltage is low, cross counts are low, BLMs are high. All indicating a lean condition.
O2 sensor working? How old is O2 sensor?
Do any work lately that may have caused a vacuum leak?
Not sure abt the inj pulse width and MAF flow readings. Maybe someone with more experience with TPI can help here.

IT"S FIXED!!
Well it turns out that your ECM tells the truth every once in a while.
I swapped in my buddy's MAF sensor and the code is gone and the cars runs like new again.
Thanks For all the help.....
