Help.. fricken 305

Hey guys I have a GTA 350auto, Superram intake, Crane 2032 cam, stock 22lbs injectors, Slp 1 5/8 headers and Trickflow 23* heads and ARAP bin chip. Now this ***** has a 305 5 speed with Stock intake, heads and cam. Has SLP headers on it and Ram air intake. and we have the same power.. We dragged raced tonight and it was whoever gets the jump wins the race. Now I should be beating this guy pretty badly what is my problem.???

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Probably need to tune the gripshun to piston ratio a little closer.

Well I am the 305 ***** that is PITA to Sostar18.. I would say he is not spinning alot but with his setup he should be catching me and then blowing by I would think. as for the Gripshun...hahaha we raced where I let him try to pass me at about 50mph and then I kicked it down and and we stayed even up to about 120MPH. I am thinking about messing with the timing some more and bumping up the fuel pressure on those stock injectors.. Maybe that will help.. Oh ya his timing is set at 15* is this to much or too little on his trickflow heads?

thats what you get when you mess with 305 biatch... anyway, i didnt know this was a racing board also... oh well. I wouldnt be surprised if you were a tad lean... you have a chip, heads, and a cam, and your not running at least a little more fuel? come on man... Stiffler could be running a hi 13's with his mods. Ive seen many a 5spds get into the deeeep 14's stock, beating most older 350 times.

Did you just have the chip burned with that bin and not touch it?

LOL, man I am honestly sorry, but if someone has as many mods as you and can't beat a 305.... then you can't tune for the life of you or your engine is just crappy.

And don't under estimate a 305

I didn't change the bin and trick flow told me to set the timing about 15v to 17 deg.

Definitely sounds like tuning issues...

I checked the timing again it was at 10deg so i set it to 20deg (that is were the car sounded to run the best) and took the fuel psi from 40 to about 44. then went for a ride the car ran much better and i didn't hear any pre ignition. This got rid of the stumble it had before 3000rpm. Now i am working on getting a better fresh air intake to it.

YOU HAD 40PSI ON A HEADS AND CAM COMBO! wow.. i would think that you would need a LITTLE more fuel then that! 44 is still a little low. seem slike most 350's like 48-50psi. Oh well, i dont got one, so i dont know.
