Does it matter what year MAF
I recently bought a TPI unit to try on my monte my question is can any maf from a tpi from 86-89 work. My Tpi is from an 88 Iroc 350 , i know someone selling an 89 maf sensor but wanted to check if it will work fine. Thanks

You are incorrect. In '85 the MAF was an analog style. 86+ was not.

Ok, your right
I forgot about the Bastard 1985 ECM year.
Otherwise the Wells will work on later TPI Maf cars.

An 85 MAF will still work on 86-89 cars. The 86-89 MAFs just won't work on the 85s.

I can't understand why the 88 MAF even works on your car. The 85 computer has absolutely no way of recognizing the signal from the 88 sensor. I tried the sensor from my 88 GTA on my IROC before I swapped to a newer ECM, and it had no idea that there was even a MAF plugged in.
