Ok guys. Vin # problems.
Ok, when I bought the car. The owner said it was the corvette model L98, not the camaro model. But, I might be selling my car soon. And I want to know for sure. I have the Original recite from Jasper ( thats where the engine came from). Can I find the engine vin on that recite?
THe only # I could find without unbolting anything was 637 on the valve cover. I dont think this meant anything. Thanks for anyhelp.

You could have anything in there...most likely not an actual "Corvette L98", though.
Look for the block casting numbers and then get the head casting numbers, that'd give ya some idea of what it is.
Also, since Jasper is still in business, and you have the receipt, they may have a record of what they did and what parts were used, etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But didn't the vette L98 come with a 4 bolt main. If you can undue the oil pain and take a look. Or try and take out your drain plug and look in with a pen light.

You already say you have aluminum heads in your sig, are you unsure now? I'm not sure how aluminum heads age but they should be shinny, iron heads will be rustsy and might have been painted.
