TPI not starting!

The Computer isnt giving me any error codes and everything seems to be working properly. Heres my problem:

When i go to start the vehicle it just keeps turning over, i can get it to run on starting fluid when i spray it in, but not run by itself. I put a test light on one of my injectors and it isnt flashing(pulsing) like it is supposed to. I'm using a 89 code chip, so the injectors should pulse while i'm turning the motor over. I've heard this can be a problem with the ignition module?? I'm stuck and dont know what to do, any help would be appreciated.

i JUST had to change my iginion module because my car died...wouldn't start....i'd check for spark.....if there is no spark or a weak spark i'd pull the module and have it tested

It sounds more like a VATS ( Vehicle Anti Theft) problem to me. No injector pulse isn't caused by a failing ignition module, that would cause no sprak and etc.

What year is your car?? You mention you are using a 89 chip, that is the first year for the VATS on the F body cars, so that is most likely the problem.

Oh and welcome to boards too by the way!!

Wow, musta been my lucky day, i went out to work on it and found a vacuum line that was unplugged, i plugged it in.. plugged in all my coil/spark wires again, and it started!! i'm so happy! this is the first time i've had my TPI started, a project that is coming together very nicely. Figures it ended up being something minor!

This site is great, i'm glad to be a part of it!

LOL! You learn something new everyday in the Automotive field. Now as in the account situation. The only thing I can think off is to delete all cookies on your computer. Did your cousin use your email address to make his account?? If so you cannot register two users on the same IP or Email. Make a post in the Forum Problems and suggestion forum here.. https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/for...?s=&forumid=40 As I am not sure how ti fix your problem.

I had this problem with my car a few months ago and after spending hundreds on a VATS system, a new fuel pump, etc, it turned out to be in the distributer. The grounding bolts for the distributer to ECM ground wire had pretty much corroded and desintigrated. I would start with pulling your distributer cap, checking the roto, ignition module, coil to distributer wire etc. go over all that stuff and make sure all the connections are good. I would then test the fuel pressure and make sure you're getting spark. If you want to check the VATS, a good palce to start is the enabler relay behind the driverside kick panel. Last time I checked mine, it had somehow got way too hot and bgan to melt.
