Going to port intake soon....what are the gaskets?

I was searching around and I am not sure on which gaskets to get. I want to get some that will give me an idea of where to port the intake.
I am going to only port the plenum and runners, not the base.
A part number and a place to buy them would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

If you're not touching the base and using the stock runners, no reason to use anything but a stock replacement set and radius transitions from plenum to runner.

Just bolt one runner on the plenum and look through from the other side.

Once you take out as much as you can, keeping in mind there's not a lot you can do to the runner, if the stock gasket hangs into the hole, just trim with an Exacto knife.

I was going to port the base too but I was told by several people that it is a huge pain in the a$$ and that it is better to spend the cash on a new one then go through the hassle of doing it myself. Is there any truth to this? If I can get a noticable amount of HP I will do it and save the cash.

So if I keep the stock runners it isnt really going to do anything much to port the plenum? and base?

Thanks
Brian

There are some gains to be had with porting the base, but nothing that will set you back in your seat.

If you have the $$, upgrade the base and runners, then port your plenum to match the runners.
