Peeps with 219 cam

I just got my cam in and its black. My other cam i had before was nice and shiney. Is this right? Also what does it like to idle at?

Mine is part number 74219 Is that what yours is? Its the 250.00 one on their website.

I just installed mine this weekend and yes the lobes were black. I was also wondering why.

as a correction, my lobes are black also. i got mine from the eBay auction with the 250 buy it now price. cam is the 74219.

I did that too I was just worried cause in the lingenfelter handbook the hyd roller was all shiney then they said the flat tappet has a dull black core to it.

i checked the ebay listing and the cam is indeed a hyd. roller setup. its black because its made from hardened steel.
