Hard 2 start after sitting ovnt
Not sure what is is but if my car sets overnight or for a few days it's hard as heck to get started in a way. It will crank over like it's not getting any fuel, the first time i crank it over. The second time it will fire right up instantly. It only happens when it set overnite, i can go to work come out like 10 hrs later and it fires right up okay. But i did notice just out of curiousity i tried once when it sat overnight, i pushed the accelerator all the way to the floor the first time i tried and it actually almost fired up, at least it tried turning over instead of just cranking away. I heard something like if you have to push the accelerator to the floor when you first start it, it has something to do with a flooding mode, anyone know what that's about?.....Would it have something to do with running a chip that is really not exactly right for my car? The chip was out of an 89' IROC Auto trans and mines a manual. Both engines were 350's though. Could it be because i only have the timing at 6* maybe? I see people setting thiers at like 10* and 12*. Oh yea and every now and then when i rev it up to like 5000 rpms i can hear a small miss from time to time.

I’m in the middle of a vary similar problem. But my car will never start the first time. Doesn’t matter if you let it crank for 10 seconds or till the battery dyes, it will NOT start on the first try. Second time you hit the key it will fire RIGHT up like a champ. The first thing you should check is for leaking injectors. Not my problem but check yours. It’s a vary common cause of a hard start problem.

The first thing to do would be to check your fuel pressure while cranking, should be at least 38 psi. Another thing, you metioned pushing down the accelerator pedal & it almost started, could be a bad TPS.

Tried changing the tps with one i borrowed from a friend, does the same thing, fuel pressure is at about 40 lbs when cranking. I noticed this morning when i kept pumping the accelerator repeatidly it started on the first try, but barely. How do you check if the injectors are leaking?

See if you have any bleed down after you shut the car off, the fuel pressure should not drop off. Also try a search, there is a ton of info on this board about hard starts. More then enough to get you started.
