the car is a stock 88 350 iroc with headers 1.6rr. I just got the supper ram and wanted to know what would be a good cam. I did a search on this and know about the lpe 219 cam. If I port and polish the heads do you think that this cam is too big or not.

That cam would work fine, if the lobe seperation is about 112 with 2-4 degs adv. Seriously consider not porting the stock heads, it's just wasting yours or someone elses time. I know, I've tried porting iron heads. If you value your time on this earth, you won't want to waste it on these. If you had alum. vette heads, I'd say yeah go ahead. Save up for some TF's, Pro-Toplines, or Dart heads if you're on a budget or even look on ebay for some aft.mark. alum. heads.
You'll need heads that flows good on the exhaust.....
OK, couple questions. The cam I got has a lift of .555 (with 1.6 rockers that I already have.) Will this hit the piston or cylinder wall if I use the thinner gasket? I want to use the thinner gasket to raise compression. I also orderd the valve springs to go with the cam. What else should I be worried about besides chip and no egr?

It probably won't hit the piston, but ...
Anyway, the stock heads probably won't support that much lift without machine the valveguides down.
You'll need decent springs too, so you'll have to machine the spring pockets for a larger diameter spring.
Since you'll have so much lift, and higher pressure springs, you'll need the rocker bosses machined down and tapped and install screw in studs, may as well run guideplates too and non-SA rockers.
So you're probably into a few hundred bucks at this point for heads as-is, that won't support the flow for the cam you've chosen and still haven't been machined yet for surfacing, valves, valve job, etc...not to mention many hours of porting.
Suggest you rethink your current plan with those heads...you're heading into mis-match territory.

I know the afr heads are favored. Where does evryone get them? Also what other heads are there that ae a little cheaper?

I run a lt4 hotcam with my superram on stock bottom end with AFR 190's performance is great. Plan on going to a cc306 when I stroke it though.

You can get AFR heads directly from AFR www.airflowresearch.com
their prices are usually the best, I got mine there.
I would avoid the LT4 hot cam with the SR, I tried it, and it did work ok, but you can do much better. If you already have the 224/224 cam use it, it should work great. I was going to use that same one.

Bigger is always better, I went with it due to emissions. I do plan on going bigger when I move back to San Antonio though.

It's not so much the size, the SR likes single pattern cams, while the hot cam is a split duration.
I did alright with it 107 mph, but I was expecting another 20-30 hp just by going to the 224/224 cam.

Mine seems to pull very nicely in the upper RPM. Of course thats compared to stock. Of course for a used 100 cam I'm very happy with it for now
