Pro Lightning's straight or angled
Searched the board but didn’t get what im looking for.
Pro Topline Pro Lightning 180cc runner 64cc chamber going on an L98 with Hooker 2055 headers.
What should I get them straight or angled?

Axle/Gears: 9 bolt
Id get strait plugs, that way you have less of a chance of interference with the headers. I have SLP headers and 200cc Lightnings with strait plugs, I dont believe the angle plug heads would have worked.

'Angle plug' is a broad term. L98 heads have a unique angle, as do many other aftermarket heads; even if they dont interfere with the L98 plugs theres no guarantee that they wont interfere with other angle plug heads. Im pretty sure the angle on the Lightnings makes plug boot clearance impossible. Either way, theres no real point to chancing it, angle plugs really offer no benefit anyway.

Cannot answer your question, but I had angled (NOT L98 angled there is a diff. ) and it didnt clear my SLP headers, now I've ordered straight heads.........

It was imported from the states in 2000 and since that day it’s my sweet ride. Local dealers didn’t have IROC’s in there show rooms only RS and Z28’s. All IROC’s over here are American imports :lala:

Just my 2 cents... I have Dart Iron Eagles with straight plugs. They barely fit with my SLP 1-5/8 headers. Unfortunatley I have no idea where the angled plugs would point.

the streets are fully loaded with LT1's and LS1's.
Did it cost alot to get it shipped out to you? What is the history of your car. It was from the states?

Go with the angled ones the straight ones (stock) will suck to change. The angle gets them away from the header tubes and makes changing plugs a lot easier.

Unfortunately, many headers will not fit with this design of spark plug location. The headers that you have will work fine with the angle plug heads. In this case, I would suggest going with the angle plug heads.

well, from what i've seen, angle plugs only seem to help with flame characteristics in a domed piston application. But the best bet is L98 angle, if available. Most headers for 3rd gens i've seen clear better with that angle. I had L98 heads and sportsman II straight plugs with the same headers (hooker 2460s). The straight plugs clear, but the L98 ones did better.
