Should I stick with TPI?

Just as the title says, should i stick with TPI?

Here's what i plan to do to the car, keep in mind i am keeping this as my daily driver. I have a 350 in the car now and here's the list of mods that i plan on doing.

-Bored to 355
-forged pistons
-light weight crank
-AFR 190cc heads
-SLP headers with Electronic cut out
-full 3'' Flowmaster American Thunder cat back
-High flow cat
-removing Air and SMOG equipment
-Serpentine belt system
-either 272* cam or keep my 268*? ----what do you guys think? I dont want a real lopey cam
-either port/polish TPI and get large tube runners and 52mm TB and 24lb injectors or HSR w/ 24lb injectors
-MSD 6-AL ignition
-Pro plugs/wires
-Ajustable fuel presure regulator
-High flow fuel pump
-Re burn EPROM
-Custom CAI

With this type of set up should i stick with modding my TPI (wich i would like to keep) or get the HSR? Also any opinions on wich cam for that set up that wouldn't be too lopey?

Thanks in advance,

miniram ...mmmmm...with that setup u can easily get excellent power from HSR or miniram, etc...the tpi setup wont get u as much power as them (not even close i dont think) and the HSR will actually be a lot cheaper (if u have a stock tpi now)...as far as the cam, i dunno, with that setup id go the distance and make a call to compcams...

With just the above mods alone, I'd go with 30lb injectors over 24lb's (especially if you give those aftermarket heads, along with whatever intake you utilize, an additional good porting.... to maximize power from the new runners and throttle body).

Opened exhaust as you're planning, as well as the addition of a re-calibrated chip you're going with, and you'll easily be over 400hp (I feel you will, that is.... if you go with 30lb injectors over 24ib). To quote an exact figure is impossible though.

Nice set-up!

I was going to go with 30lb injectors but i thought that would make my gas milage even worse. An ajustable fuel presure regulator allows you to control the fuel flow right? So if i have 30lbs i could make it lower? 400HP sounds good to me! Not bad for a daily driver. Hopefully i will still get above 11MPG city.

Oh absolutely. A friend of mine runs an LT1 (now a modified LT4) in his 90 Z28.... and after extensive porting of the heads, manifold and plenum, as well as a larger throttle body and runners (using 30lb injectors), along with the cam he chose (I can get the specs if you'd like), he's pushing WELL over 400HP, and runs in the 11's (with slicks of course) in the 1/4 (stock tranny, and stock rear).

He proudly boasts that he get's well over 15mpg on the street.

You can definitely lower fuel pressure with an AFPR, but believe me.... you won't have to lower it that much. You're 355, after opening up both the intake and the exhaust the way you're planning, will no doubt benefit from bigger 30lb injectors. Top that off with the ignition that you're going with, & you'll have one quick ride!

Just wanted to add.... if you also ever decide to put a Vortech Supercharger on the engine anytime in the future, you'll be relieved that you went with 30lb injectors over the 24lb's (but even then, you'll probably want to go even higher to maximize boost).

I guess 30lb injectors is what i'll get then. Im also gonna get some TTII rims with streetable slicks, deal with my suspension and either put in a 6spd tranny (hopefully) or a probuilt 700R4. Now alls i need to do is get a job and save up for the beast! Any other suggestions or comments is welcome.

I would suggest checking with whoever is burning your prom before making a final decision on injector size.

I would suggest getting a job. And then realizing how expensive this is going to be.

Ya i am getting a job in March, i have one secured. I know it will probably be around 6k or more to do this. I plan on keeping the cost down and doing most of the work myself besides the chip work and a few other small things. Hopefully i will have this done within the next year and a half. I'm going to save and just start buying the parts i need and then doing this after i have everything.

So nobody knows of a good cam to go with for this set up that wouldn't be too lopey? I want my car to have more of a Sleeper sound until i open my cutout. A lopey idle is a dead give away. The cam i have now doesnt have a lopey idle except when its a little cold blooded you can barely hear the lopeyness.
