Im just doing this to get opinions, so help me out. Heres my build list
335 stroker crank
350 vortec alum. heads
compression of 10:1(via piston, or rod)
balanced and shaved rotating assembly(as light as possible, want quick spool up and down)
high flow intake manifold for the vortecs and large diameter tubes
Bumpy cam with roller rockers.
Shot of NOS.
Set of long tube headers with cutouts.
Car doesnt have a serpentine belt. So im going with an electric water pump. Car already has 6speed trans with 4.10 rearend. I was wondering if this project would be worthwile, or pointless. Id go with a 350 but i believe that the tpi is hindering performance gains. Cant breathe. The price is rather moderate for the setup, but i was worried about maximum rpms and reliability, not to mention how hard it would be to tune the tpi to the new mods.
Any input or facts would be greatly appreciated.

Why are you going to put the $$ into stroking a 305 to 335 when it will STILL have less cubes than a 350 and a smaller bore? If you would have to keep your stock motor for some reason, ok but for performance reasons, theres not many good ones to keep a 305, let alone stroke it. If you think the TPI will choke the 350, then go with a StealthRam or SuperRam, it shouldn't be a problem with all the money you want to put into this 305. Also, a 305 doesn't naturally lend itself to high RPM's due to valve shrouding.

Every reply is JUST GET A 350...........I am with ya dude. I want to see how far I can take my 305 also. I think that would be an excellent combo however watch the compression with the NOS. I have seen people run 10:1 but be sure you do it right!!!!! I think you can take a tpi into that, if you have a MAS you may not need that much tuning if you have a MAP you will have to either do your own chips or get a custom one made. I have a carbed 355 and a TPI 305 I am working on now. I was glad I went with the carb on the 355 because all I have to do is change jets with the conditions. I don't drive it in the winter or daily so MPG or cold starts are not in the opinion.

It's your money, you can do what you want. I'm just saying for the same $ you will make more power with a 350.

If you really want to keep the 305, don't spend the money stroking it, just spray it, after all it only has 30k on it, right?

I agree 100%. Don't rebuild it if it doesn't need it.

i wouldn't stroke it either...just spray the **** out of it, and use the stroker kit money to get a 350 and an engine stand.

also, i wouldn't recommend the HSR for a 305. I plan to use the lt1 intake on mine.

I agree the 350 is the way to go with performance. I'm just odd and lazy...don't feel like taking the motor out.

Now there are some good ideas. I have ran with many modified 5.0 mustangs in my 305 TPI convertible, all I did was full exhaust NO cats 3.23 4 gen rear. LT4 cam, 1.6 rockers, air foil, AFPR ,gutted air boxes a/c delete. I can tell you one thing.....all of that with a 100 shot would be killer. Check out my web pages and see all the mods there.
