Hey Trickster, et al, need more help...
Just to review...
Car cranks and cranks, but doesn't fire. As of right now, cylinders are popping when I crank, but it just doesn't want fire up and run. The ignition system has been rebuilt from the ground up with all new components and everything tests out fine. I've tested all the injectors with a noid light and they're pulsing. I'm also getting spark at every cylinder and fuel pressure is a steady 46psi. Computer has been swapped out with another known working one, as has the chip. My scanner doesn't show any codes and no problems are being reported at all. The IAC is showing 144 steps with the key in the "on" position and the TPS was showing .80 so I bumped it down to .46v. The gas is still good. The only thing I can think of now is that somehow my injectors all got clogged.
Trickster, I've still got the section you sent me about the car cranking but not starting, but if I follow the chart down, it tells me to see section B on hard starting. Could you send me that one?
Anybody got any ideas? I have an offer on the table for the car and if I can't get it running in the next week, it's gone. I'm tired of dealing with it.

Thanks for the info, man. Just received it.
Well, I found a little while ago that the distributor had walked on me. The #1 wire was pointed at the #2 cylinder. Soon as I turned it, it fired right up. However, it runs for a few seconds then dies. I did manage to get it running long enough at one point for the scanner to do it's thing. At least I'm a step closer now.
Here's what the scanner tells me...
Code 34 (MAF)
Knock Retard = 0 (ESC connector unplugged)
IAC = 160 steps
Injector Pulse = 5.2ms
Desired Idle = 1000rpm
Engine Load = 116
TPS = .49v
MAP Sensor = .64v (I don't have a MAP sensor...)
Engine RPM = 706
MAF = 17gr/sec
EGR Cycle = 0%
CCP Duty Cycle = 0%
O2 Sensor = 420mv
Battery Voltage = 11.4v (going to take it back because it won't hold 12v at all and the side is starting to swell out)
O2 Cross Counts = 1
Learn Control = Disabled
Fuel Pump Sense = 11.1v
Block Learn = 128
Rich Lean Flag = rich
Spark Advance = 28.7
BLK LRN Cell = 4
Open Loop
Knock Sensor = 11
Integrator = 128

IAC should read 5 - 50
injector pulse is a tad high
desired rpm will come down
engine load a little high
TPS should be around .56 eng. running
Map sensor ok (some scanners read it that way example: auto X-ray)
engine rpm ok
maf rather high should be 4 - 7
egr cycle ok
ccp ok
O2 sensor ok
battery low
O2 cross ok
learn control ok
fuel pump volt ok
block learn ok
rich lean flag speaks for itself
spark advance ok
blk lrn cell should be 0 or 1
open loop ok
knock sesor little high should be 0
integrator ok
The ESC should be connected during this scan. Do you need the trouble chart for code 34?

On this scan, I had the elbow from the throttle body to the MAF off, in addition to the ESC being disconnected. I'll hook those up tomorrow afternoon and try again.
I'm off to watch the Superbowl!:lala:

I readjusted the IAC according to the tech article. Starting off, it was idling right above 2000rpm and would die shortly after startup. I backed the screw out and got it down to 1000, ran just fine. I couldn't get it to idle below 650 though, the article says 450. I got it idling at 700 then plugged the connector back in. Right now, the computer's wanting to idle it around 1000rpm, still have to figure that one out. The good news is, it runs until I turn it off now.
Here's the scan I took a few minutes ago...
Knock Retard = 0
IAC Steps = 73
Injector Pulse = 1.3ms
Desired Idle = 1000rpm
Engine Load = 41
TPS = .49v
MAP Sensor = .98v (again, no MAP sensor)
Engine RPM = 1164 (it was jumping between that and 900)
MAF Air Flow = 9gr/sec
EGR Cycle = 0%
CCP Duty Cycle = 0%
O2 Sensor = 436mv
O2 Cross Counts = 1
Fuel Pump Sense = 11v
Block Learn = 128
Rich / Lean = Rich
Spark Advance = 13.3
BLK LRN Cell = 1
Open Loop
Knock Sensor = 13
Integrator = 128

Ok,
That is a better looking scan than the first one. I don't know what type scan tool you are using, I have the auto x-ray ez-scan 6000. I also had the problem of my scan showing the MAP voltage instead of the MAF voltage. I contacted their tech service center and they told me that was the way their would read it from the ECM.
The MAF air flow is still a little high
TPS should be a little higher
RPM will drop after a learning period
Knock sensor is still way high, should be "0".
Might wannt to look at your timing since you have made those adjustments.
All in all it is looking better. How about the half time show??????????????

I was saving the timing for tomorrow afternoon. I'll scan it again after I get it reset. Before it stopped running, I had it at 6 BTD. Like I said earlier though, the dizzy walked on me and I don't know where it's at now.
I'm using an AutoXray I borrow from a friend. I really should get me one of these. I'm looking for a scan program I can run on my laptop though if you know of any.
Didn't catch the halftime show. I was on my way home by then. I caught part of the beginning of the Timberlake / Jackson set and went to check my e-mail because I had no interest in seeing Justin Timberlake.
