I think Holley hit a home run with this intake. It looks so easy to install, except maybe for the tedious stuff pertaining to the fuel lines and connections.
I'm still biulding my 395 cu.in. motor. At this time, I plan on installing my current SuperRam. BUT, I have thought about the HSR alot.
question for the HSR fans: I have an 700R4 tranny in my '87 IROCZ. With the TPI intake stuff and 350 cubes, the tranny would shift at 5200-5400RPM. If I install the HSR, would this have an effect on my shift RPM as far as the tranny is concerned??? I prefer to let the tranny to shift when it needs to, I just stick it in D and go like hell.
I am asking this question because it has to do with the cam selection also. I have speced out a 224/230 cam for the 395. Would this came work well with the HSR and the 700R4? How would the whole package work: HSR, 700R4, 224/230 cam?

Doc, the intake has nothing to do with the transmission's automatic shift point. You will definitely want to shift it manually while racing if you get the stealthram because they like to rev!

as far as clearence and emissions, it wont fit under the stock bird hood without modifications or an aftermarket hood and it wont pass cali emissions laws either.
