Would I run 12's with this??

I am considering building a 383, or rebuilding my 350. I am not sure what I want to do. I know I would like to have a mid 12 second car on motor. I have a NX 150 wet kit to get me into the 11's. What do you think this combo would get me?

350 w/:
BBK 52mm tb
TPIS Miniram
TPIS Prom
AFR 195's
LT4 Hotcam w/1.6 rocker
MSD 6a
MSD Pro Billet Distributor
MSD Coil
Underdrive pulleys (Not sure which brand yet)
Meizere Electric Water Pump
TCI 3000 stall converter
Edelbrock TES headers
Flowmaster 3" exhaust
The block will consist of a stock polished crank, Weisco pistons, Eagle H-beam rods, Speedpro bearings, 10:1 compression

Would that be good for mid 12's with traction. I have Nitto's and lca's, lca brackets, sfc's, etc, so the chassis is not a problem.

What would the same combination run except with 383 cubic inches, and a Eagle 4340 forged crank shaft?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated here guys. Thank you.

It all looks pretty good for mid 12s at least high 12s. Except for the headers. The TES headers are kind of restrictive, so I would go with Hooker Super Comps or SLP if hooker is too expensive for you. I would also do a minimum head port job (3 angle valves, some bowl blending and some port matching). THat should be good for mid 12s definitely.

Great heads, great cam, I agree the headers are a weak point..Long tubes with bigger primaries will make a world of difference, also your induction is very importand..I honestly don't know a lot about the miniram, but if it flows as good as or better than the stealth ram you should be straight...When you move up to a 383, you can expect some significant horespower gain, but mainly a very significant increase in torque due to the increased crank angle..Just remember: bigger cubes requires more air...So make sure it can get it in and out efficiently!!

If it would help, I'll give you all my specs...Pretty much the same route you're going except for the induction end:

Trick Flow 23 degree heads w/ CNC chambers
Victor jr intake w/ 750 Holley DP
Crower cam :specs--240 / 248 duration @.050
112 degree centerline
.546 / .564 lift w/ 1.5 RR (very streetable cam)

JE forged flat top pistons 10.3:1 Comp
Crower 6"rods
Stock steel crank
MSD blaster 2 coil
MSD pro comp billet Distributor
MSD 6AL ignition box
Hooker Super Comp coated Long Tubes
Stock Shocks and struts
Intrax lowering springs
Nitto Drag radials

So far this combo has been good for an 11.80 but I've only run once, so I think it's got more in it..It made 500 HP at the flywheel, So I'm sure if you do it right, You'll have no probs..I think keeping engine specs a secret is so if you have any questions or if I can help, let me know!!--Dusty

Thanks for your help screamin! I don't think I would match your numbers, however I would definately be in the 12's based on those #'s. The LT4 hotcam is a 218/228 with a .525"/.525" (1.6 rocker). So the cam would be a big difference.

The cam is a bit smaller, but I think It's almost perfect for your induction system...I had a 94 lt1 with the hot cam, and loved it..I'd say 12's are definitely in your future! Good luck, man!!

With better headers that combo will just about get you into the 11's. 12's should be very easy as long as you have a good tune and you can hook-up with a 1.6x 60ft time.

Do you mean my 350 combo that I listed, or going with the same parts but a 383 stroker bottom end?
