Does this sound like my injectors are junk?

OK, When my car has been sitting for a while like over night,it will fire rite up.Now If I've drove it for a while and shut it off, it will fire rite back up if I only have it shut off for a couple minutes, like at the gas station but if it's shut off for 15 min. or more when I go to start it,it cranks over a bunch before it fires up and I have a bad gas smell. I was told that it's the injectors leaking down causeing the hard start and the fuel smell.Does this sound rite?

Thanks Bill

Could be a bad fuel pressure regulator, pull the vacuum line off the regulator and see if fuel comes out. If it does, the diaphram inside it is shot.

I had the same problem with my GTA. It was leaky injectors. I had them cleaned and rebuilt and that solved the problem.

Good luck.

I would also pull the dipstick and check to see if the oil smelled like gas and seemed a little thin.

That may be the route I take.I'm just not sure with that high a rateing and useing a stock prom. I can get some 27lb. ones
cheep out of my buddys LT4 vette but I'm not getting a custom burnt prom at this time.I've read that with a stock motor/ECM that 24 pounders is the biggest I can go.

Your fuel injectors are leaking down.

Would suggest removing them and having them rebuilt and flowmatched by Rich.

You'll be glad you did.

I broke down and got some Ford Motorsport 24lb. injectors,Put them in and she fires rite up without a lot of cranking. I also never changed the fuel pressure,I know I need to.I still have to get an adjustable regulater. The cars totally stock with the exception of a catback.I was also haveing a problem sometimes getting a code 33.I replaced MAF sensor, relay, etc. but diden't help, when I took it out for a test drive after the injector swap I got no codes, even did a couple small holeshots which would of given me a code 33 before but not this time. I've only drove it about 5 miles but so far so good.WOO HOO I'm ready to party.
By the way the injector swap was a major PITA but it was well worth it.Thanks for all the help guys. I own about $8,000 in tools, but this site has been the best tool I've ever used.
Thanks Again Guys:lala:

The code 33 is not always indicative of a problem with the MAF circuit. I was getting an intermittent code 33 and it turned out to be fuel related.

Ya my thinking was that my injectors were leaking bad enough that there wasen't enough air going thru the MAF to keep up with the extra gas so the MAF was haveing a hard time doing it's job causeing the intermittent code 33.
