What's a good price for a set of used 91' LB9 heads??
I found a set of good used LB9 heads off a 91' with 80k on them, does 125 shipped sound like a good deal??
If your willing to go to a junk yard and pull them off yourself, or maybe even pick up some already off, or at least pull them off of an engine out of the car...$25 bucks +/-.
You will have to consider if the extra $100 you pay will offset the time and effort involved in getting the heads locally. How will you know the ones you get are not cracked, or have too much valve seat recession, etc.? Do you have a budget? Extra expenses need to be considered and compared to aftermarket heads...
I have seen Complete, ported, assembled heads ready to install at swap meets for $200+.
I don't think $125 for the LB9 heads needing work is a good deal.

I didn't think so either plus of the fact that they may in fact be cracked and I wouldn't feel comfortable putting used heads on my engine which means the expense of valve job, and magnafluxing the heads.
What's a good set of aftermarket heads for a 305 TPI that won't break the bank??

FWIW, i told you that the heads are good to go...no cracks or in need of a valve job..you can tell both these things by looking at the exhaust valves...i wouldnt sell them as "good to go" if they werent...id bolt them back on my motor if it wasnt reversed cooled =).....
And just an FYI, those world products 305 heads are junk out of the box..like 20-25 cfm off the vortecs....
081's and 416's can be HOME ported to flow more then the vortecs....

just saying that I don't feel comfortable bolting on a set of used heads with out knowing for sure that they are good to go by having them magnafluxed, and for total comfort....a valve job. I'm just trying to find out if going with a set of aftermarket heads out weighs the cost of used with machine costs. But I figured that a cheap set of aftermarket heads would cost around that much.I would really rather go with a set of stock heads though.
I'll try and let you know by the end of the week if I want your heads or not. Sorry if it sounded like I was calling you a lier.

Never took it like that, and its totally understandable,...i wouldnt buy a pair without knowing either...I wouldnt sell them as good to go with them needing work...i dont need that type of hassle ya know....and id do what ive done when other people bought stuff off me...not cash the money order untill they recieved there parts and are satisfied with them...Hell i havent cashed the M/O from the bellhosung i sold 2 weeks ago becasue the guys hasnt told me if hes satisfied with it yet....i REALLY REALLY do not want any part of that "scam seller" or "this isnt what i bought" crap....

$125 is still too much (IMO) when you have to change springs and hardware. Plus, they will need some porting (bowl blending at a minimum) if they are to be worth anythin at all before installing on the short block (IMO).
