Edelbrock manifold users in here, need tips
Ok I just purchased the Edelbrock intake set up for TPI. I am looking at this new base and right off I noticed the bracket that bolts to the rear and holds my coil, is not flat like the stock but has casting for the Corvette EGR. So looking for ideas on how to overcome this. Did you grind down that area, use standoffs and longer bolts, mount your coil some other way? Maybe cut away part of the bracket and mount it with 1 bolt? My stock manifold is at home and my new one got delivered to the job so I can't compare both pieces yet, but are there any other problems I will come up against that isn't a direct bolt on.
I also have the Edelbrock runners and a Holley AFPR all going on, any clearnace issues with the AFPR hitting plenum on this setup, any issues with cold start clearances? Anything I will need to grind or machine before I start putting on car.
This will all be ported and gasket matched to the 1.75" gaskets.

I just mounted mine to the firewall, in a 90 degree angle, I dont have any pics but it looks nice and works great.

yup. The coil had to be mounted elsewhere for it to work on my friends 87. We put it on the Firewall as well.

Taking a closer look at it I might be able to just cut a notch out of the center of that bracket to allow the casting on the manifold to come up between those two mounting holes. If it works I'll take a picture.
I noticed the mounting bosses for the fuel rail look lower than the stock manifold
This may be a good thing to give a little more clearance for the AFPR. Anyone else see or have issues with that differnce. Of course that was a measurment from the top of the manifold to top of boss so maybe its lower because the manifold deck height is taller.
Anyway no other issues I will run across, no news is good news I guess.

That's what I did. If I remember correctly, I had to remove a section of the braket, about 1/2 by 1/4 inch. Real easy and then it mounted right back up to the manifold.
